Tried getting some of these a while back. They started out fine, but quickly the audio began flickering in and out because they are designed with a weak connection between the cable and the in-ear unit

This is not a good product at all, the wire detached from the earphone so easily that it was impossible to see if they worked. Very disappointing product, I returned it immediately.

Was initially impressed with metal casings on these and I've had good luck with other Apex products in the past. The connectors were either faulty on mine or just poorly designed. I tried replacement cables but they would cut out all the time. After trying contact cleaners, other cables and even trying to shrink wrap the cables in the position where they seemed to work I gave up. It would take many positive reviews from people I trust for me to ever try Apex in ear headphones again.

Bought a pair of these for commuting on the train, as well as as backups for my main in-ears for gigs. Pros: 1. Price 2. Decent Sound Overall not bad, but you really get what you pay for... ;) Cons: 1. Supplied ear buds slip off the ear pieces easily. I had to glue them into place with a dab of silicone. 2. No supplied way to cinch the cables tight to your head (to keep them in place)

These in ears work good for how cheap they are, you are best going with a better pair in the 100-200 dollar range if you want excellent in ears but for my recording experience with my band so far they get the job done, Sometimes the sound gets muddy and you can hear some feedback but other then that they do give off overall a very crisp high quality sound build quality is surprisingly very good for the price, My main issue with these in ears however is just fitting them properly in my ears, the in ears themselves fit on my ears nice with the ear holders in place but keeping the actual buds stuck in my ears seemed to be a little troublesome, I was eventually able to eliminate this issue by using different sized ear bud holders I had from another pair of headphones. Overall I cant say anything too bad, they work great for being a cheaper end pair I would recomend if you are on a tight budget but if you got extra $$ I would go for some nicer ones from Fender, Shure or Westone.

I love the sound of these IEMs but ultimately opted for (more expensive) Audio Technica M50s headphones instead. The problem with these Apex IEMs was the fit. No matter which buds I used, I couldn't get them to stay where I placed them - and placement makes a big difference in the sound. Maybe it's the fact I wear glasses, but even smiling seemed to be enough to cause them to shift. Great sound - amazing bass and crisp highs - and they are very durable but the fit was a deal breaker for me.

I like that these pair of IEM use MMCX connectors so you can switch cables for different applications. These might be the cheapest IEMs on market that allows that. The sound is quite decent, but thats about personal taste. I listen to classic rock, jazz and a little bit of metalcore.

I bought these primarily for drumming and they do the job. They're very sensitive and don't need much to get good volume. They feel great in terms of build quality, especially the cord. Regarding the sound, it's very dependent on which of the included earbuds you use and how they fit in your ear. The 2 section ones fit my ears best, but tend to make the low mids a bit muddy and hollow. Bass is defined and highs are crisp however. They do the job for my application well and don't regret the purchase.

I've been using these in church now for about a year and, they sound great. The only issue I have is they don't stay in my ears very well. I'm constantly having to adjust them. I haven't used any other models such as Shure in a close price range, so i don't know how much better they would stay in. But they sound just fine for anyone looking to use in ears with out spending an arm and a leg.

I bought these thinking they could be a good replacement for my broken shure SE215. After the first gig, I was really satisfied with the overall sound. The cable ia actually interchangeable with the Shure line. One major issue is the way the earbuds are hold in place on the headphone. There is nothing to keep them from falling and I lost one earbud after a week only and the other earbuds supplied with the headphones don't fit well my ear canal. Now I'm stuck buying extra buds. I have to put some hot glue to hold them in place. Not a big deal but imagiine you loose it during a concert! For the price it's does the job except for that flaw in the design.

Normally I do not use these in-ears. I have my own moulded in-ears. But I was in a bind when my in-ears broke and I had to get them fixed. If you are looking for a great sounding IEM for this price, you will not find it. But, for $65, they work really well. Definitely a great way to go for a beginner IEM. I would recommend them to anyone who has not used IEMs before. A great price for what you get. RESPONSE to frequencies: I am a drummer, so I like to have a lot of kick and bass in my ears. I found that I could hear them both distinctly once I got a good fit. (I found that the graduated size of earbuds fit me best. All depends on your ear canal size.) The lows are fairly good, which, personally is a good thing. If you buy these expecting them to sound like quad drivers, you will be disappointed. But, they are a great back up when your in a crunch. And great for the beginner IEM user.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
