I use this 13 inch El Sabor splash with a cajon in a minimalist percussion setup playing with a small jazz group. It has a little more body and power than a traditional splash, and a slightly deeper tone, all of which make it very versatile. I also have an 11 inch Sabian AAX X-Plosion splash that I really like; but if I had to have only one cymbal, then for my purposes, this would be it. Struck with brushes, the hand or even a single finger, it really comes to life. I wouldn't want to be without it.
