This review is total rubbish. This person is complaining that not all 12 outputs are "usable" because it has two 18VDC outs, 5 variable outputs, a 9VAC output and that they went back to using a daisy chain, wasting $270. That still leaves 9 potential 9VDC outputs, 5 of which are 250mA or greater. Do they not know that the 5 variable 12VDC outputs can be set to 9V with the dip switches? This makes the complaint a non issue and is quite telling of the quality of their review. They couldn't even be bothered to read the specs of the pedal before opening the box at home. Assuming they need all 12 outputs to be 9VDC, they must have more than 9 pedals but why go back to a daisy chain? Surely the 9 "usable" outputs can still be used in their setup and if they need more then the daisy chain can power the rest. But even that is a non issue. With quality isolated power supplies you can still daisy chain at least 2 average dirty pedals per 100mA output and at least 2 average time based pedals per 250mA or greater output. I understand most people aren't going to use the 18VDC outputs, nor the 9VAC because most pedals are 9VDC, but for my part, all outputs are used to their full extent. This power supply is great and has so many convenient features. You may not need all of them but for the average person 9 "usable" outputs is more than enough. I highly recommend this power supply.

THIS DOES NOT HAVE 12 USEABLE PORTS!!! One is for a specific, odd brand of pedal. 2 are ONLY 18 volt. The adjustable voltage outputs are 9 or 12 volt - who needs 5 of 12 volt ports? I would return it but the packaging is all opened & its installed. I'm very disappointed to be using daisy chains again after spending $270 on this

Works well, isolated power helps to keep pedals (mostly) noiseless.

I moved up over the years from the One Spot "daisy chain" to a CS7, recently to the CS12. Very happy with each upgrade! The CS 12 has plenty of power and voltage options to power vintage & modern pedals. Isolated power is the key to a quiet pedalboard, especially if you have digital pedals. I have 9 pedals running on the current board, and it is clean and quiet. I really appreciate the high powered outputs for the Strymon pedals, the 18 volt options for 2 pedals that need it, and even 12 volt and "sag" options. Pedals really shine when they are powered properly, and this brick does the job brilliantly.

Due to having an increasingly BIGGER pedal collection, I was also getting an increasingly BIGGER adaptor collection. Although a few pedals came with adaptors ( Morley Bad Horsie Wah and Digitech Whammy), I started buying adaptors as I grew tired of ever increasing battery prices in recent years. Then there is the hassle of trying to figure out which batteries were dying as some pedals weren't putting out the signal the way they used to despite true bypass. At least my signal never went completely dead. With nearly ten pedals and perhaps another to join the party I did not want to buy another adaptor with two power strips nearly full. I have mostly 9V pedals except the battery guzzling 18V MXR EVH Flanger. I had to buy a $40 adaptor for that one. I looked at Voodoo Labs top unit and it DID NOT have enough plugs! So I chose the unheard of Truetone and wow did it clean my floor up! With a few spare inputs to boot! No more power strips with 7 adaptors(with more to add I assumed at the time). No more little wires that you can trip on.The only pedal it can't power up is an Ibanez Tube Screamer TS808. Its the reissue but for some reason it has a pin style plug that is not compatible with the standard plugs that Trutone includes. So it remains battery powered. Oh well.

Very good unit. Lots of versatility. I was tired of using multiple wall warts to power my large board. I am running 16 pedals currently. Was really hoping it would have taken away some of the popping sound from when I engage some of my dirt pedals...it didn't. No regrets other than it went on sale about a month after I bought mine )^=

Great power supply. Not noisy, no popping and it came with the bracket to install under my pedal train. And it powers my larger strymon and eventide pedals without an issue. Definitely a step up from my old BBE supacharger.

Plenty of options, and is pretty quiet. Slight hum, but its honestly only noticable in a quiet room when you're not playing. Has more options that a Voodoo labs Pedal Power II plus for the same price. Overall, solid purchase and a good investment, because you'll never need a bigger supply.

Really wanted this to work, but not only did it not lower the noise on my pedals, it made it worse on some. I even switched out some of my patch cables to see if that helped, but nope... For $250 I will stick with my old wall wart setup :(

I am a shameless suburban basement hacker with more equipment than talent. I wanted to make my ultimate pedal board, had some specific things in mind that I cannot get on a commercially available pedal board (like a lighted toggle for power), and wanted a power supply that was up for the task. My board is 18 X 32". I spent a long time researching the different ones out there and for a long time, intended to buy the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 - the obvious competition for the CS12. First of all, the CS12 costs $ 30 more than its competition. It however comes with installation brackets (which the Voodoo Lab does not) which saves you $ 20. The net difference is $ 10, so here's what you get for the price difference. The PP2 has 8 outputs, the largest of which puts out 250 ma. It DOES NOT have any 18 volt outputs - you need to use an adaptor (voltage doubler) cable for this function and utilize 2 outputs (an important consideration if you have something like a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 which can/should take 18 volts). The CS12 has 12 outputs and all but one of them is useful for the vast majority of guitar players. Number 12 is 9 volts AC (not quite sure what you would use this for). The remaining 11 provide killer options (sag control between 4 volts and 9 volts), 2 dedicated 18 volts ones, 2 with a consumption rating of 500 ma (compared to a max of 250 for the PP2). If you were in the position where you needed to power a 24 volt pedal (like a Deluxe Memory Man), you could do so using two of the switchable 9/12 volt outlets on the CS12 and would have 9 outlets left to power the remainder of your pedals. This thing has herds of power available. I have 15 pedals on my board, and there are still empty jacks on my CS12. The total power consumption for all the pedals on my board is 280 ma - less than the capacity of one of the high power (500 ma) outlets on the CS12. By comparison, the highest capacity output on the PP2 is 250 ma. The CS12 is also very quiet - not one hint of hum or buzz, even if you use only one jack to power every pedal on your board (I separate mine by groups - distortion, delay, chorus/flange/phase, etc.). I'm not quite sure what you would need to do in order to exceed the capacity of the CS 12. I think your board would have to be an acre or more. In summary, it has killer features, works very well, and has more power capacity than anyone not doing stadium performances will need. I think it is a better value than the PP2, although both are excellent units. One gripe: The mounting brackets included with the power supply are made to install the unit on a Pedaltrain Board (where the unit is partially sandwhiched/recessed between the slots). I mounted mine underneath a homemade wooden board similar in design to a Pedaltrain. I had to use two blocks of wood as spacers to mount the power supply using the brackets provided because the brackets are about 3/4" shallower than the thickness of the CS12. Truetone should provide brackets that allow you to mount it directly against the underside of a board.
