Q & A

Question: My baritone has a 29.75" scale length. Would these strings be long enough?

As another review said, these wouldn't fit a bass vi with its tremolo, but they fit perfectly on my 30" scale baritone (similar to Squier jazzmaster baritone) with a tuneomatic bridge. Work perfectly for Drop A.

Ernie Ball strings are great. Superb clarity and strength. BUT, these should not be marketed or labeled as baritone or bass 6 strings, as they are nowhere near long enough. If you have a 3+3 headstock and a 27" baritone they might just fit. But if you have a Fender-style 6-in-line headstock OR a 3+3 headstock and a scale length near 30" (as I do - Gretsch Jet Baritone), the middle 2 strings will not be long enough to reach the machine head, especially if you have a Bigsby (again, as I do). Great strings if you need this guage and have a regular scale length or SLIGHTLY longer neck, but otherwise look elsewhere.

Out of all the baritone string that I have used, these are by far my favorite. They keep their tone for quite a while, and the guage allows you to tune down to G and still be nice and tight feeling. Great for fast palm muted fury!
