To be clear, though the Swish Knocker looks like a China cymbal, it's not, nor is it an EFX cymbal, it is, however, most certainly a Ride that you can also crash. The current offering of the Swish Knocker through Zildjian is an exact replica, to the spec of the one used by Mel Lewis in '40s, '50s. It's dark, has a great wash to it, opens up quickly, decays nicely, the bell and stick definition add to its versatility. Largely underrated, even overlooked in the Zildjian fleet given that Knocker and Pang cymbals are commonly associated with Jazz and Big Band. I currently Ride and Crash mine for Pop and Rock genres. A well-priced cymbal to add to your mix.
