I own about 12 djembes.
This one I use when I play outdoors in less than ideal weather.
The plastic skin is unaffected by humidity or rain.
A plastic shell/skin will never sound as good as a quality wooden djembe, but at half the price (and 1/3rd the weight), this one is great for jammers.
And, the bass is the best in the business.
