Regarded as one of the most influential drummers of all time by Jazz and Rock drummers alike, Tony Williams simply revolutionized the art of drumming in the 60's as a member of the Miles Davis Second Great Quintet. Not only did Tony's drumming with this transformative group set a new standard, but the very sound of his instrument, and in particular that of his cymbals, would become equally as influential. Today, Tony's cymbal sounds on the recordings of the Miles Davis Quintet are regarded as the epitome of the authentic handmade Turkish cymbal sound and have set a benchmark to which, still to this day, all others aspire.

Now the Istanbul Mehmet Co has been granted exclusive access to the actual cymbals played by Tony Williams on these historic recordings, and as faithful replicas of these now iconic cymbals have created this extraordinary Tony Williams Tribute Cymbal set. To ensure absolute integrity in the recreation process, Colleen Williams, Tony's wife, personally hand carried the original cymbals to the Istanbul Mehmet factory in Istanbul. Every aspect of these legendary cymbals has been meticulously replicated by the Istanbul Mehmet master artisans to ensure that the Tribute models be as close in sound as possible to the originals.
