First off, most decent drum hardware is expensive. In saying that, any drummer would know that good hardware is a must. Whether or not you are gigging or just practicing you will need decent stuff. I have been using my old Ludwig hardware for the past 20 years and because I haven't really experienced anything else, I thought that it was great. Anyhow, I went out and bought this Mapex Armory hardware set and it is really high quality stuff. It has memory locks on all the stands and they are all heavy double braced and a very easy setup. The high-hat stand and the kick pedal are super smooth and very easy to use when properly setup. I'm thinking that this is as good as it will get for the intermediate to pro drummer, and should last a long time if looked after, even with heavy gigging. You can't go wrong with this Mapex Hardware.
