Rock, Pop, Metal - good on deeper snares. good when tuned low to med. Keeps punch and articulation at lower batter tunings. I put it on my Mapex Black Panther Sledgehammer all brass snare drum and it sounds great. I've had it on my old Pearl Vinnie Paul before as well and it kept the snare dark, but still cut in the mix for live play.

My snare drum now has a very sensitive crackle & pop, ghost notes cut right through. I had Stagg wires before these, they were okay, but nothing compared to these.
Worth the price.
