These stands fit inside the bell of most trombones. I've used them on standard tenors, bass, valve. The assembly is a little fiddly, but you get used to it. These stands are used by most trombone players. My stand has withstood years of use, and works as well today as it did on day 1. If you're in the market for a first stand and can afford it, this is what I'd get. Having the stand inside the case leaves your other hand free to hold music, doors and (of course) coffee.
