I had a couple of pairs of AKG headphones in the past and loved them all. These by far were my favourite, they are monitoring headphones and when I purchased a good amp to dial in even more sound I fell in love with them all over again. They are super comfortable and look great for a great price.
Oh yeah, the most important part, the right cup stopped working just after the warranty ended. Mint condition, no travel, they stayed in my office and were well cared for. It looks like it happened to everyone. Now I am back using my Alesis which hurt my head until I decide to take another risk on something else. If this was a random case I would say buy these in a heartbeat.
It looks like it happens to everyone, sooo I just can't do this to myself again unless I bought a super extended warranty.

I have been using these now for over 5 years. the sound is great with great frequency response response, having said that, these are studio headphones not colored "Beats by Dre" headphones. The tonal accuracy takes some time to get used to but at mid volume the clarity shines through, with deep bass response and clear highs. only now the ear cups need replacement from wear and tare. like I said these have been my daily drivers for mixing and mastering for over 5 years now and am now buying my 2nd pair. I auditioned other brands in higher price ranges and the K92's hold their own with GREAT bang for buck performance.

These were great until the right ear stopped working. I've had them just over a year and they had very light use.

I have a pair of AKG buds that the right ear quit working on after only a few weeks. While trying to research the problem I came upon a review site where the right ear speaker failing is a regular occurrence according to a number of people who bought them. AKG must know about the problem but they don't seem to have done anything to put things right.
Very disappointing for a Samsung - Harman Kardon company product. I expect better from them.

Very comfortable for long Studio Sessions, excellent sound for recording and mixing, but in the end, not worth the money, as the Right Ear speaker quit after only a moderate amount of use in only 5 Months, Studio setting, No Abuse of the unit.
Shame the Manufacturing Quality is so crappy.

This set of headcans are a great value for the money. What needs to be understood at the outset is that these are marketed as, and perform like, studio monitors.
These are not a set of Beats.
What that means is that the first time you listen to these casually, everything is going to sound flat. The highs aren't sharp the bass is well defined but not boosted as is the case with many casual over-ear and on-ear sets.
The longer you listen, the better they get. Nuances and details flourish that you never noticed. Once you get accustomed to the flat response curve you'll find you don't miss the bassy, muddy sound of casual sets. And then the mids and highs start to sparkle in their own subtle way. Textures become noticeable. The soundstage for music that isn't mixed to punch you in the face, like jazz and classical, is astounding for a set that costs $80.
And the set itself is all-day comfy. No ear sweat, no lobe pain, and you barely notice the band. You can even wear a hat under them as long as it doesn't have a brim.
Hands down recommend for a bedroom studio for their accuracy and clarity, and for the discerning casual listener. Money way better spent here than on flashy brand-name status symbols.
