Sometimes referred to as a "wind gong", the Feng has a constantly evolving tone, from a gentle murmur to thunderous explosions. Faster attack, explosive full-frequency sound, and a shorter duration differentiate the Feng gong from the Chau gong. The gong is flat, has no lip and is fully lathed on both sides, contributing to its distinctive look.
Q & A
There are currently no questions for this product.
This gong produces unbelievable low elephant and high whale pitched sounds with friction mallets, such as a flumi and a whale. Start low, go slow, with little pressure and speed, it’s quite remarkable, the sounds and the story that this gong can create. The entire surface area is playable with endless sweet spots. Friction mallets are definitely worth it, they create a second instrument completely in addition to striking it with mallets.

WOW… get it on … bang a gong… get it on! This is my first gong, I’m a percussionist, I felt like I needed to add a gong to my drum kit. I took a leap of faith and I’m glad I did, this gong is simply amazing. The photos don’t do it justice, it’s beautiful to look at, has a brilliant bright shine, truly a work of art. It unleashes a tsunami of sound, the likes of which I’ve never heard from any other instrument. GARY from the Brampton store was a pleasure to work with, he went above and beyond researching the best gong for my needs, he ordered me a stand from dream which is also amazing, it has smooth gliding wheels with breaks , it’s strong, sturdy and light. Takes 10 minutes to take down and assemble by myself, and it’s easy to transport. The gong itself isn't that heavy, about 25 lbs. I can easily lift it alone. The thick white rope that came with it is perfect, holds the gong in place with 2 simple knots, grab it, hook it up, it secures in place with 2 nice hooks on the stand. There are so many different sounds that this gong can make, it came with a mallet which is good enough to get going, but there’s allot of different types that produce different sounds such as a flumi and a whale. This is by far the best purchase I’ve made as a musician to date, it’s next level percussion, I HIGHLY recommended this gong, it cannot be beat for the price point, size, and quality.
