I bought this guitar (transparent crimson-maple fretboard) in 2013. To begin, it looks amazing- I'm an incredibly aesthetic individual and this is simply one of the best looking stratocasters you can buy. I especially love the gold hardware and the transparent finish showing the wood grain (uncommon features on most fenders). The guitar sounds incredibly bright and will cut through anything- I like this. Adjusting the EQ on your amp can get the noiseless pickups to sound fantastic- and they really come in handy when using overdrive or boost pedals where any normal strat pickups would begin to hum aggressively with these effects. The button that allows simultaneous selection of neck and bridge pickups sounds super awesome, and it always blows people's minds because it's a unique feature to this particular strat (as far as I know). I have this strung with Ernie Ball power slinkies (11-48) and I use it for Rock, Modern Rock, Classic Rock, Blues Rock etc. Overall, this guitar laughs in the face of its American older brothers, and I just feel super cool every time I play it.

An excellent guitar from the get go! Why is everyone so pent up on this guitar being a MIM? The same Mexican probably scoots across the border on weekends to build/assemble the US models. An attractive guitar, I am quite pleased with mine in every respect. I love and use the Tele option most.

Initially attracted to the look, the noiseless PUPs and the 7 PUP selection feature. Unfortunately, right out of the box I had trouble with sharp fret edges. Also, it was so dry the frets kept lifting, despite being in a humidity controlled room. After 3 tries back at the shop, with me doing the fine tuning fret work at home it is finally playable. Problem is, it has taken almost 3 years to get to this point, and for most of that time the guitar has been in the case with a humidifier. In that time I probably got about two hours total play time on the guitar, and an unfortunate side effect of the constant humidification is now the gold plating is very corroded. Too bad. Having said all this, the guitar should be a great buy, because the fit and finish is beautiful, and PUPs sound fantastic. Now that I finally have it where it is playable, I can finally determine why it has always felt odd to me. I should have read the fine print. I did not realize it had a 12 inch radius. 9.5 is for me. Without the dryness problem, this is definately a good instrument that bridges the gap nicely between a Standard and an American standard.

I have been using this guitar for about half a year now. I would say it is fulfilling my needs. Having 7 different pickup positions is just amazing. Is definitely worth my money. Definitely awesome for blues, but not for jazz, unless you change one of the pickups to humbucker. It is okay for rock.

Mine looks killer, but the very thick polyester finish really kills the tone in mine. You're might be different.

It's got a nice feature set, between the noiseless pickups, gold hardware, and an outstanding finish for a Mexican made Strat. If you're looking for a little more than your typical Mexican Strat but don't want to get into the US model costs, this one makes for a nice bridge and a unique guitar. The noiseless pickups are different than Mexican or US standard models, but once you get used to them this is a nice playing guitar for a good price.

This is a GREAT guitar. Neck feels great, noiseless pickups sound nice and are super quiet, even with heavy distortion applied. The gold plated hardware isn't "top shelf", but it's pretty good for what you're paying. It's Mexican, but that doesn't bother me whatsoever. Great buy.

Best bang for buck Strat. Fantastic 7 position pickup options. Beautiful looking ash body gives sweet warm slightly scooped tone. 12" radius neck. If that's what you want, grab it.

I have had my Deluxe Players Strat a few weeks and it is sweet. I went to a heavier gauge string set and tightened the tremolo springs some and lubed the nut and you can shimmer away and it stays in tune. The 12 radius neck is the main reason I wanted it, the sunburst and wood matching is superb. Took a long time to locate the front seam without cheating and looking on the back where it's still almost invisible. Very nice Fender. It sits in a stand nice beside my 2010 Fender American Deluxe V Jazz bass also sunburst.

Well i just bought this guitar about 4 months ago only had to tune it twice and so far it is amazing. The strings that came with it were pretty crappy and i suggest getting the guitar set up. But it is amazing if you are into jazz or blue. If you are playing alot of rock i wouldn't suggest this because since it has single coiled pickups it buzzes on distortion. All in all worth the money.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
