Perfect for the studio or a small club, the AV30 is a fully-featured analog amp that packs decades worth of tones into a compact package. The AV30s unique multi-circuit analog pre-amp utilizes a 12AX7 tube to provide a full complement of clean, crunch, overdrive, and high gain tones that can be tailored to your liking via the Bright and Fat switches. These classic tones are further enhanced by a customizable, tube equipped analog power section and a unique, sealed speaker enclosure for improved resonance. Rounding out the feature set are three, analog-voiced digital effects including Chorus, Delay & Reverb. The AV30 from VOX is an incredibly versatile amplifier that is packed with pure, analog tone.

I've been looking for a smaller "versatile" amp with a variety of tones built in so that I didn't have to haul pedals with me. I also didn't want to spend a lot of money. It also needed to sound good at lower volume. I've tried many brands, models and sizes both SS and All Tube. This Vox model seems to have FINALLY met my expectations and literally is music to my ears. For the money... I don't think you will find a better amp. Nice tone. Easy to set, LOTS of tone options that are actually useful. Easy to use foot pedal. Sounds good on a wide variety of guitars. (Fender. PRS, LTD) Solid 5 stars.

Great, versatile little amp. The 8 pre-amp circuits are fairly convincing ,especially at lower volumes. The clean and lower gain crunch settings are great and the higher gain settings are decent enough . Nice studio amp and great for gigging if you add the bigger footswitch. A swiss army knife of amps . Easier to tweak than a digital rig, lightweight , nice all round amp. Always a compromise with amps that emulate other amps. If you prefer a 1 trick pony buy a 1 trick pony. The 8 pre-amps arebased on fender twin fender bassman, ac15, ac30, plexi, jcm800 soldano ,5150. Impressive!

I had my eyes (and ears) on a VT20X as a practise amp, and spent an hour and a bit in the store messing with it in one of the practise booths. There was a great deal to enjoy, but I wasn't quite feeling the love for the amp. Piles of great-sounding options at my fingertips, sure, but I knew I'd probably pare it down to four or five personal settings then leave the rest to obscurity.
The sales guy mentioned Vox was selling the AV60 at a screaming deal, and wondered if I was curious. I messed with the AV30 for a bit, then put in my order for the 60.
I've had it for nearly three months. For starters, I actually prefer the AV's rendition of the AC15 to the real deal -- though that is in the ears of the beholder. The AC is chimier, where the AV heats up the tones to (I think) exceptional effect. My predominant modes are blues and jazz, so I tend to stick to the first five (relatively) clean preamp circuits. The capacity to fine-tune your tones on this beast cannot be overstated -- it is a classic and responsive piece of equipment.
You can YouTube some great examples of tone control on this amp (Nick in the States is particularly revelatory). There are some who dislike the High Gain preamp circuits, right out of the box. It took me seconds to tweak HG2 into White Zombie tones -- dates me, I know, but right out of the box you're getting Frank Poncho Sampedro's AC-50. This is a very, very impressive piece of equipment.
Can't speak for the 30, but the 60 is thoroughly gig-ready. I imagine the 30 could be micced, if need be, without any complication. Highly recommended.

This amp is Loud as you need it, surprisingly loud actually, and also super toneful! No matter what your style of play, this amp has what you want, what you need, and so much more! It will be my next purchase, and I don't even need another amp! It is relatively small in size, and light as a feather! Excellent solution to "no more lugging a 1000 ton amp!"
It had a lot of great features indeed, I spent an hour with this amp, and walked away very very impressed.
You can do anything with this amp, rehearse, practice with the band, gig it, and record with it. Visit the VOX website for more, there's some fairly smart engineering involved in this amp build. I reccomend you check out the YouTube demo vids too. Or go check one out yourself, in person! At $499 CAD, It is a much better deal/value and features for the dollar than say, a Fender Blues Junior.
I have owned lots of boutique and vintage amps, and still own a few. This VOX AV30 is one that I would be happy to have in my collection, and quite honestly, I think it would get more use, every day, than my collectable tube amps. Hands down, the best "new to market" amp I have demo'd in the last 10 years.
If you are curious about this amp, and you are in the market, do not hesitate to plug into one and see for yourself. This amp is going to change your way of thinking about size & weight verses volume and tone. Go experience one right now, I promise it will not disappoint you, and I bet 10 to 1 you won't leave the store without it. My final word: VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD AND IMPRESSIVE LITTLE AMP!

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
- Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
- Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
- No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
- Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
- Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
- Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
- Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
- Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
- Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
- NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
- USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
- GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
- BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
