The ART SCC is the ideal compact solution allowing you to take complete control of your studio space. Three selectable stereo sources can be quickly and easily routed to any or all of three sets of stereo balanced outputs from the front panel. Sources can be individually selected or blended from the front panel. Separate trim pots ensure proper levels between sources can be preset. A large single volume knob controls the overall output level of the system.

A separate cue source input with its own outputs and level control allows a separate headphone mix to run in parallel to the main mix. The headphone output can easily switch between the cue source and the main input source with the touch of a single button on the front panel.

Additional controls on the SCC include a master mute switch, and a mono switch allowing you to sum the stereo inputs to mono to check phase in any mix.
In a typical studio setup, one set of inputs on the SCC would connect to the main output of your DAW workstation or computer audio card. Secondary outputs or headphone output would be connected to the SCC's Cue Mix input allowing for a second, completely separate headphone mix. Other sources (keyboard, iPod, analog sub mixer etc) can connect to the additional stereo inputs.
Outputs would be connected to nearfield and midfield monitors or monitors and subwoofer. Multiple inputs and outputs can be used at the same time.

Works great after calibration, completely noiseless switching, excellent value for the money and it's transparent enough.

Excellent piece of gear that takes some calibration. Factory trim pots are at full blast, and way too hot. I calibrated the ins to match my Soundcraft board outputs, and my Focusrite ins and outs to match the out and in levels of the SCC and the sound quality was vastly improved in the chain. It requires balanced TRS on all I/O and you're good to go. The monitor controller is highly recommended over the Focusrite 2i2 I also own as a controller. Plenty of attenuation signal as opposed to the 2i2...very quiet. Just a simple, cost effective way to route signals between my studio monitors and my streaming PC, and makes monitoring whatever signal I want very easy.

Product Experience   I've tried it
Closest Store   Toronto (Bloor St.), Ontario
Starting with the positives: it was easy to setup, had a solid feeling construction (metal construction, smooth knobs, clicky buttons, etc), worked out of the box and did what it was supposed to do. For non crucial monitoring applications, this will do the job. I own a lot of other ART products (PS4x4Pro, HeadAmp 6Pro, MPA 2 and VLA 2) and I've been very happy with them. However, I can't recommend this unit for any crucial audio work based on my experience with the interface and sound quality. I found the interface to be rather tedious; one example being A/B switching. The only way to swap from monitor A to monitor B is by trying to hit the monitor A and B buttons at the same time, which isn't super easy since the buttons are just a little too small to press with two fingers and just a little too big for one finger. The fact that it is "rack style" makes this even more annoying. Another issue is with the sound of the unit itself. You can't send a lot of signal from your interface because there is so little headroom to work with on the ART. Because of this headroom issue, you have to compensate for lack of volume by cranking the output knob, which adds a significant amount of hiss to the signal. It also sucks a lot of the tone and definition out of your signal. I wish I could say there were better options out there for the price, but I have yet to find one. Dangerous Music is pretty much the standard if you have the budget, although I've heard good things about Drawmer's mid to high priced products which are certainly more affordable. I'm currently using my interface's software to manually switch the monitors around whenever I need. It's not as instant as a monitor switcher, but at least it's transparent!

I wasn't expecting to much at this price range but this units quality really exceeds it's price range. I thought it would compromise my sound coming out of my DAW as it is another device in the chain but by using the trim pots I am able to optimize the levels between my interface and speakers it actually sounds better!

I bought one of these a few months ago and within a week it stopped working - burned out internally and would not send an output signal. Had it replaced under warranty and the second met exactly the same fate within 2 months. Absolutely garbage and a waste of money. If the units weren't so cheaply made and actually lasted, they would be great value, but after going through 2 units in under 4 months, I'd advise going with anything else.

Bought this to feel things out while setting up my bedroom studio, I have two sets of monitors and a Roland Cube 30 i use for playing live against my recorded track. the unit is solid compact. and fits nicely on my desk, nice big volume knob, easy switching between monitors and I use the third switch for the roland, so far no issues at all. was going to use this as a stepping stone for the rack mount central station, but seriously cannot find a reason to take it out of the studio now, it works perfect, i send the headphone out to an ART headphone amp at a closet i Coverted to a vocal booth, and have two sets of headphones there. So the headphone volume I use as the master volume, and then you adjust volume acordingly at the ART headphone amp.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
