I bought this guitar lightly used from L&M in 2019. I was there checking out a brand new Studio that was tagged at around $900. I was curious why this used, modest looking Lester was almost double. Then I plugged it in and instantly knew why. It came home with me and has been well used since then. The finish is starting to wear off in spots. I can't say I've played a lot of (Gibson) Les Pauls, but I love mine and I would never sell or trade it. Unless maybe someone had a super badass sounding LP Custom to trade. Actually no, still wouldn't happen. I'd steal the $$ to get the Custom and have both. The neck is considerably thicker than that of a '77 Greco copy I own. It's not uncomfortable and my hand tires less playing the Gibson over long periods than the slimmer 60's profile of the Greco. I have to work harder to play faster parts, but I'm not a great player by any means. The 57 Classics just rip too. My favorite tone is a blend of the two pickups. Very full and dynamic sounding. I didn't know till quite a while later that this seems to not be a common model. Maybe exclusive to L&M? Only negatives I could point out are scratchy pots and I had the input jack replaced under warranty, and it's due for another. I'm sure if I picked it up to show it a little love instead of playing it the pots would be an easy fix. Same with the jack. If you find one, take it for a road test. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

I love this guitar. Had it for a year. It is everything good about the LP to me. Gave it a 4 on features because I would have preferred raw nickle pickup covers. The picture on the site does it no justice at all. Try one if you can you will love it. Mine is more bright and open than most LP which may be due to the finish. Bare bones blues rock classic. The working mans les paul.

This is a no nonsense, authentic bad ass LP. There are no fancy bells and whistles but what it lacks in new standard features it makes up for in class. This has a gorgeous feel and its chunky as hell. If you are lokoing for a vintage lester with balls this is it. PS just discovered a small nick in the neck and waterloo LM kick ass. No questions asked, Dave contacted the Kanata store and arranged for a new in box unit to be shipped here and I will swap this floor model out. I've always been a huge fan of the crew at Waterloo and they never cease to impress me with their service. Life time customer here.

I own at least 20 guitars (Prs,fender, ibanez, ebmm etc..) and that guitar came perfect from the box , almost perfectly tuned, incredible craftmanship , bright sound, nice vintage look, definately worth buying !

I echo everything the first reviewer wrote except for it being too plain. I have to say this thing is beautiful in its simplicity. I've always been a flame fan but this is stunning. The satin finish and the bare mahogany back of the neck and body give this thing a great feel. So pumped I bought this!

I bought this guitar as soon as it came out and seeing no one has written a review I thought I would share my experience. I played three of these guitars and chose the one I liked best but all three were excellent...very similar in quality. It has a lovely neck which is easy to play. Because of the weight relief, it is fairly light which makes it a joy to hold. Additionally it has great sustain and resonance, again probably due to the weight relief. It is a little brighter than most of the Les Paul's I own, also probably due to weight relief and possibly the finish. Sound with the Classic 57's is very rich plugged into a tube amp. Out of the box, this guitar was perfectly setup. This was very impressive because most Les Paul's come with the nut action too high. This one was absolutely perfect which I am sure contributed to it's ease of play. The only thing negative that I can say is that it is a little plain looking... so I rated it down a tad for that. If that aesthetic does not bother you I am sure you will love this guitar should you choose to buy one. The fit and finish are also perfect. I cannot find any flaws. Not much else to say other than a great Les Paul.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
