I am a beginner, but I can say this guitar sounds amazing and plays easily. Being a showcase guitar, it is smaller, but sounds large... Comes with a beautiful hard case and the guitar just looks amazing. I can't get my hands off it.... on sale at 880$, seems like great value, and its made in La Patrie Quebec, Canada, by Godin !

I have owned it for about a week now , and it is the best sounding guitar I have ever owned. Even my wife has said it is a beautiful sounding guitar. It has a ring very similar to a grand piano.I craft guitars for a hobby and was going to make myself a concert hall style guitar but i couldn't build as beautiful a guitar for this little money.

One tiny complaint, the neck profile isn't what I'm used too. None of my guitars have the same shape(telecaster, Alvarez classical, performance taper Martin), so it will take time to adjust as expected. Otherwise, it's fantastic. **HIGHLY RECOMMEND NICKEL BRONZE(12OR13) STRINGS** I use d'addario's. Mahogany and Adirondack spruce are a high quality tonewoods that deserve to be heard. I'm of the opinion that you truly can't assess a guitar's tone without a truly neutral string like Nickel Bronze. Below are some details about the guitar that I got straight from Godin Hi, The guitar has a water based polyurethane finish. The fingerboard radius is 16". It has a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, a rosewood veneer on the headstock and spruce bracing. It was factory fitted with .012-.053 phosphor bronze strings. The tuners are built for us by a subcontractor called Nova. It has X bracing. You'll find info on the neck joint from Seagull's website. You can use a wax free guitar polish on the top, back and sides. Godin polish is available at : https://godinguitars.com/product-category/accessories/guitar-care/ It has a double action truss rod (adjustment diagram in the attachment) The neck is 0.820" thick at the 1st fret and 0.920" thick at the 9th fret. The headstock angle is 17 degrees. The body has the following dimensions : upper bout width : 11.192" lower bout width : 14.930" body length : 19.375" body depth : 4"

Having owned this guitar for a month and a half, I have to agree with all the comments above. The best way to choose the right guitar is to find one that you want to pick up and play. This is a definite contender.

Bought this guitar couple of months ago and already I'm picking this thing up more than all of my other guitars. The sound is amazing, the workmanship is excellent and the playability is very, very good. The only reason I gave it an overall rating of 4.5 was because of a couple of small dings on the headstock of the guitar. They are not really noticeable but they are there when you look. These guitars are used by many musicians that go in the store and try them out before they buy, its unavoidable. Anyhow, i have 12 guitars and many of them high end models but this one rivals them all. It is quickly becoming my favourite. Keep up the good work S&P!

I purchased and returned two other guitars before settling on this guitar. I am fussy. Long and McQuaid is patient with their customers (thankfully!). When I took this guitar home, I knew immediately it was the one. Love everything about this guitar! The tone is amazing as is the playability. Just finished playing some John Lennon songs. Loved every minute!

I wasn't intending on buying another acoustic, I was just burning some time. This guitar haunted me from the moment i picked it up. It has a nice balanced feel, the neck is very nice, and the tone is incredible. Very balanced and articulate. The finish is perfect, the woods just beautiful and to it all with a TRIC case for under $1000, I couldn't be happier. I will be putting a Fishman Rare Earth Humbucking pickup in it, and I know she'll be with me forever.

This guitar is a real treasure....I had been looking for a concert hall sized acoustic for a while...soon as i played this one I had to have it...It is very beautiful looking but the sound is what keeps you wanting it.. I spent alot of time trying out other similar guitars and found that this one while a bit mid heavy as you would expect for a guitar this size also had a complexity to the sound..very big sound for a smaller guitar as well. A little bit of research and an email to Simon and Patrick and i found out that the top wood is indeed spruce...but its Adirondack Spruce. Adirondack spruce is known for its complexity and character and alot of pre-war guitars had these same tops. The bracing is also Adirondack Spruce..a favoured wood for bracing because of its resonance. The Fingerboard and Saddle are Ebony, Not Rosewood. This guitar is comparable to guitars that cost many more thousands of dollars.. i would recommend that you snap them up..they are a limited run and won't be here long

I use this to play mostly fingerstyle blues. I had no intention of buying this guitar when I walked into the story, but after picking up it I became enchanted by it. I looked at the $1000 price tag and thought, "worth it." A few months later, I like it even more. A honey of a guitar. Really resonant, round sound. It's hard to explain, but the sound has body to it, it has a resonance that goes beyond your ears. You can feel it in your body. It's not super loud, and the bass is not huge. Probably more suited to fingerstyle than strumming. But it's really well balanced, each string is well-articulated, and it feels and sounds like a high end instrument.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
