This was one of the last guitars that I picked from off the wall. At first, I thought it was too bright for me. I was looking for a look that was darker, more "me." But as I was trying everything in the shop, searching for that "One Guitar," I decided to give it a shot. The guitar as tonally very well balanced, I'd say close to perfect. I'm an audio engineer, and I have been playing guitar for over 25 years. There is zero mudiness or honk, so to speak. My fingers can glide up and down the fretboard like it's made of butter. If you're looking for the family heirloom guitar, the one to be passed down generation after generation, this is the guitar that I went for, and heartily recommend. And as for the comparison to the J-45 Standard, there's just something different. I've read comments about, too much lacquer and finish, this and that. But with this guitar, the sound is just right. I'd buy it again.
