Quick and to the point. This guitar has a good projection while sounding warm and full and allowing bright sounds to still come through.
The tuning pegs are excellent quality as is the build overall. Beautiful easy guitar to love for a long time. I’m hard on mine and it’s still going like new with surface wear that just cherries it up

I've owned this particular guitar for long enough now I'm wearing a Willie Nelson hole in mine. It is, without question, my favourite 'go to' guitar. I have it annually adjusted, tweaked, and examined. It has settled into an outstanding instrument. The mahogany really contributes to the deep, full sound of the instrument. As usual the low end comes through in true Martin style. It has a robust sound that fills the room with rounded tones. The only thing that it might miss would be a pickup and/or onboard 'tuna', however with sound like this, it's probably best not to mess with the instrument too much with bells and whistles. I purchased this guitar for $900 and consider it an absolute STEAL. It is worth near twice that now. This is the LAST guitar in my collection I'd part with. Martin has another model now that's similar but simply not the same as this one. I have tried it, and this model is much better.

Beautiful warm bottom end. Projects well. Sturdy guitar that is well built. Doesn’t feel cheap at any angle. You get what you pay for and this guitar is no exception. A great investment. Humidifies well and holds moisture level when out of the case well. Smells like awesome. Plays awesome. Is awesome. See for yourself.

I came back to guitar about 5 years ago -- at over 50 years old. This time I was serious and (re)taught myself to play. So I purchased a Taylor 214ce to keep me honest. Soon traded up to a 414ce that has an angelic voice. Everyone had a Martin -- or wanted one, but I didn't see the appeal. That is until I picked up the D15M. That smell, the neck, and that guttural sound when that first chord was struck and rang out for 15 minutes! I like the underrated look, the rubbed natural finish and -- that smell! The D15 make you work a little harder, or really dig sometimes -- but the results are so satisfying. The low end is a perfect complement to the bright Taylor. Don't try a D15M unless you're prepare to buy it!

A few years ago I was torn between this rig and a Larrivee. I ended up with the Larrivee (Swamp Ash) and loved it. Loved the Larrivee so much, I bought the new OM-40 Walnut Ltd Ed. However, I still yearned for a Martin, so I put the Swamp Ash up for trade. I was so surprised when I got a trade offer for a D-15. It is a 2006 model and it still looks beautiful and sounds awesome! I'm thrilled I finally own one and this baby isn't going anywhere.

I've had the Martin D15-M for about 2 years and I am very happy with it. It has a mellow, deep bass tone that's perfect for small room, unamplified playing. Beautiful guitar. The satin finish is susceptible to skin oils and you'll find the finish starts to shine where you regularly rest your arm and hand. You'll need to rub it down regularly. It's an extremely light guitar.

I got the D-15 M more than a year ago and loved every second playing it. It only gains in tone as you play it. Very good handling, maybe except the E-string tends to slip off the neck with pull-offs. Terrific mids and bottom end. Terrific looks. A true beauty.

Just bought this and it is, without a doubt the best acoustic I have in my collection. The sound, tone and performance are top quality for the price although the looks are very plain jane, which I like. Thank You C.F. Martin

For months, every trip I made to Long & Mcquade (which is often) would result in me playing the Martin HD-28V, with a $3500.00 price tag. I just had to play it every time I was there while my kids were in their lessons. Until the one day I couldn't find it hanging on the wall. What? Where could it be? I quickly scanned the room until I seen a man, with his back to me, playing a guitar. It sounded so amazing. Well it had to be the HD-28V. Then he stood up and turned around with the guitar. I immediately noticed it wasn't the HD-28V but a plain looking Martin D-15M with a Burst finish. The guitar didn't make it back on the wall. It went straight into my hands. I played it for a half hour straight. I fell in love with the sound of this guitar before I ever seen what was making this beautiful sound. The price tag said $1325.00 (the Burst finish is a bit more). Almost a third of the cost of the HD-28V. This guitar can easily rival that HD-28V in everyway except cosmetically. Martin has obviously kept the cost of this guitar down by keeping it plain in appearance. Don't let that fool you. Everything else about this guitar is all quality. It is a dreadnaught and can belt out tons of volume. The tone is warm, clear and defined with terrific bass reponse. It is a very light guitar as well. It sounds great with a flat pick or finger picking. I gave this guitar all 10's because it deserves all 10's as a guitar in its price range. Next time you are able to pick one up and play it, do so. You might just fall in love. Great job C.F. Martin and Co.

It would sound like this one. This is by far the nicest acoustic guitar I've owned and a very hard one to put down. The warmest sound I've heard from Martins well above it in and price and a simple look that disguises the magic this thing is capable of producing. Did plenty of research before buying this guitar and encourage you to check out some reviews but you won't regret spending the money when you hear it. Well done Martin.

This guitar is insane. I put this guitar up against even other Martins that are twice the price and the sound is better. It's a piece of mahogany that immediately begins vibrating instantly upon striking a note.

I've owned this guitar for a few years now and still can't stop playing it. I wouldn't say this is a guitar for those who like to finger pick, the warm sound just doesn't carry - but if you're looking for a great strumming guitar, with a deep, engaging sound, this is the one. And I really like the slightly thinner neck which makes it easy to play for hours on end.

I tried a number of guitars, from far less to far more expensive. This one captured my ear right away. Not much to look at, and based on that I would never have picked it up. Since I was trying everything, I thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did! Excellent build quality, perfect intonation and that fantastic mahogany smell. This is one warm and powerful sounding guitar.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
