Three simple knobs let you adjust the degree of effect applied and the lineout volume level. Additionally, Yamaha kept the controls small to minimize the area of the holes in the body material, thereby reducing acoustic sound loss.
• Reverb Control (Room / Hall)
• Chorus Control
• TA Switch / Line Out Volume Control
Features:
• The body is an all-solid guitar based on the L-series.
• A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series characteristic bright tone while enhancing the low end.
• Treating the tops with Yamaha's exclusive A.R.E. process gives the instrument a rich, vintage quality tone, making it sound as though you'd been playing it for years, from the very first moment you pick it up.
• The fact that this guitar has been designed with an insistence on sound quality is what allows it to produce effected sounds that feels pure and natural.
• Straighter neck taper and hand-rolled fingerboard edges result in an instrument that can be played for hours without any stress.
• The 5-ply neck design featured in all TransAcoustic Guitars is constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies with a double-action adjustable rod, creating a strong, stable neck that resists warping.
• Newly designed battery box is integrated into the end-pin jack. This requires fewer holes in the body, thus reducing acoustic sound loss. Connect the cable from the jack to a PA or amp to use as an acoustic electric guitar.

"I Own Martins, Taylors, Gibsons and Many smaller 'Boutique Guitar builders' like Larivee or Bourgeois etc., But This mid to low priced Yamaha, Simon & Patrick, Et cetera Guitar 'Is MY Favourite, I play IT mostly and First?"
I have Always doubted that a Martin or Taylor or Etc. costing $6000 Can Possibly (How?) be *That* much better than Many other guitars costing around $1000-1500...even those by the Same company?
So, I post 'This' only to wonder and Possibly Warn others that The Expensive models are certainly Nicer in finish detail work. (No argument) *BUT*, if You, like Most are Not playing 'Professionally'....YOU do Not need a 10K Guitar... to Sound Better? (Beyond a certain Point, Sound quality is likely *All related to Player quality*) YES??? POINT: Such 'reviews' are *Everywhere*!! But, I have seen Far too many such 'Reviews' of almost every 1K to 1.5K $$ guitar that I have read in past few years?? Yeh! "I have Martins etc. but *THIS* lil Gem......

First off, let me set the record straight that I am not affiliated with Yamaha, nor a dealer. I am just a regular Joe Schmuck that has been playing guitar for just over nine years, but believes in buying quality instruments at reasonable prices. I don't have deep pockets, so big ticket items are out for me.
I purchased this guitar locally, but had to order in, as it is not a stocked item and the staff on hand know nothing of this special guitar.
It wasn't until it came in and I played it for them, that they were absolutely wowed by the stunning beauty and sound of this guitar. So was I! I had only watched videos and demos on line and listened to the sound as it passed through my computer speakers, not a real test of a prospective purchase.
Needless to say, that when I started playing it in it's normal mode (without effects), I was completely taken by the crisp clear sound of this Yamaha, how it resonated and held sustain. The looks on the faces of the staff were even that of surprise, disbelief and impressed. I mean, the look of the burst finish, the overall construction, but most importantly, the sound that emanated from this guitar. I knew tight there and then, that I was going to purchase it. Buyer's remorse at first, but certainly after having it for a few weeks now and playing it frequently, those remorseful thoughts have since dissipated.
Since that time of having this guitar, I have had others try out this Yamaha transacoustic only to see the same look as the store staff have on their faces. They, too, cannot believe how beautiful the sound is on this guitar. That speaks volumes because these individuals are all seasoned guitarists, and they, to me, are the ultimate judges who I look to for their brutally honest opinion.
So, in closing, I hope that this review has helped you with any future prospective guitar purchasing you are planning to do. A lot of the time, people are skeptical about reviews and using them as a basis for making purchases. There's a lot of pros and cons to any purchase, whether it be a guitar, car, power tool of some sort, but the intention is to help, not to dissuade.
One last thing. I gave the value and overall rating of 4.5 rather than 5, and that reason is that with me spending $1300+ (taxes in) for this guitar, I would have expected to receive an nice hard shell case with it. Instead I received a padded nylon case with shoulder straps for carrying it around. I thought that this was rather cheap for the overall price. However, this has no bearing whatsoever on the the guitar itself. -Cheers!
Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
- Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
- Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
- No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
- Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
- Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
- Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
- Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
- Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
- Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
- NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
- USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
- GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
- BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
