I bought this pedal on a whim for a Metallica cover I was going to do with a friend. New is inexpensive, but a local store had one on clearance, so I decided to get it. I was pleasantly surprised.
The scooped setting gave me the Metallica tone I needed. I was setup and ready to go in less than 5 minutes. Ran the pedal max gain into a clean Mesa amp and got what I needed. I have yet to try the other setting (Raw) but the Fat setting was great for the solo parts.

I own this type of guitar effects pedal. It gives me good sound with the type of other pedals I use this with. I have recorded songs with this type of pedal and it gives me great pleasure to say it is great for rock and roll sounds or classic rock. I know this is used for metal rock but if your an avid rock guitar player you get beat this pedal compared to others it has great value and is a worth the effort pedal to make guitar your favorite tool of choice.

I admit that I wasn't convinced when I first tried this inside the store but I decided to take it home anyways. As I try mixing it with my amp (solid state), I kinda liked it all of the sudden. It gives a very nice sustain on doing solos that I am looking on a certain pedal. I was leaning on the Grand Magus but I never regret buying this one. I love the FAT tone but find the 2 remaining mode (RAW & SCOOP) not that good. They said it's a rip off of metal zone but I don't care. I liked it.
