The worlds top-selling stage tuner, the BOSS TU-2, evolves and improves with the debut of the new TU-3. Housed in a tank-tough BOSS stompbox body, the TU-3 features a smooth 21-segment LED meter with a High-Brightness mode that cuts through the harshest outdoor glare. Choose between Chromatic or Guitar/Bass tuning modes, and enjoy visual pinpoint tuning verification with the Accu-Pitch Sign function. The TU-3 incorporates a convenient Note Name Indicator that can display notes of 7-string guitars and 6-string basses, while the Flat-Tuning mode can support up to six half-steps. Its the new-standard tuner that no guitarist or bass player should be without!

• 21-segment LED meter with brightness control
• High-Brightness mode enhances meter visibility outdoors
• Accu-Pitch Sign function provides visual verification when tuning is complete
• Chromatic and Guitar/Bass mode (tune by string number, with support for 7-string guitars and 6-string basses)
• Flat tuning is supported with Guitar Flat mode, which allows for drop tunings up to six semitones below standard pitch
• Signal is automatically muted when the tuner is on
• Supplies power for up to 7 BOSS compact effect pedals

If you play live gigs or jam with other people (and don't have a rack tuner), you need this pedal. Nobody wants to listen to someone tune their guitar. Quick. Easy. Convenient. Discreet.

Been using Boss tuners for over 20 years and this latest version did not disappoint me. Built to last, this tuner won't let you down ever. If you're looking for a polyphonic tuner, this is not the one but if you're looking for a reliable and accurate tuner, this one is for you.

Regardless of what tuner pedal you choose you need one. This tuner in my opinion has the best build quality out of the bunch. Giged plenty with this pedal and it never fails to keep me in tune. Nothing special about this thing it just works!

Tuning is accurate and fast (on a J-bass). Lots of useful features too. One on my favorite aspects is that engaging the pedal mutes the output. Very useful in many on-stage situations.

Very accurate +-1 cent (which is all you need from a tuner) Solid built quality, as per all Boss pedals. I grabbed the TC Electronic Polytune 2 first before I got this. Didn't like it's built quality and how it was very unstable. I went and returned for the Boss TU-3 and it turned out to be the right move. Trust me. This pedal will give you all that you need from a tuner pedal.

It ain't cheap for a tuner but you won't be dissapointed if you take the plunge and buy one. This is probably the best tuner I've had and it's super easy to use. Go step on one.

I have had this tuner for a while and I love it! It is definitely worth the money. Although I never use the bypass plug in. It is also really cool if you have a friend or as bandmate who plays bass they can plug in and there is a bass setting on the tuner. I love how it cuts off the sound when you are tuning so everybody doesn't have to hear you tune. It is a great pedal.

This is a 'must have', for your pedal train. Accurate, solid and versatile. Be sure to get the power cord and piggyback - parallel cord.

well I had the TU-2 and thought the new one was going to be better. I needed something that could do 7 string tuning .. so I got this one and well the 6 strings tune fine but the 7 is always off and it does not tune properly for some reason..

Solid, quality pedal. All you'll ever need really. You can go by string # or by note if you want. That accu-tune thing where the lights zoom in to the middle can be left on or off. It's simple and effective, and I have an easier time doing intonation with this than any previous tuners I've owned.

This tuner is more accurate than previous tuners. It divides the octave in to 100 parts. It shows you the tuning plus or minus to fractions of a percentage. This is good enough for people with perfect pitch. Since you would be tuning silently on stage you have to rely on the visual meters. When you hear the tuning when you play you can hear that you are as close as you can get with equal tempered tuning. At home its good to have an accurate tuner when your ears are fatigued. Another issue with old tuners that I hated was two different tuners would tune to a significantly different pitch. So guitar players with different tuners would not be in tune with each other. That created confusion. With these new tuners, all new tuners tune exactly the same, no variance. The unit accommodates various tunings such as Drop-tuning. The unit tunes one string at a time. Each string can be tuned in 2 seconds on a guitar so it does not take long to tune a guitar accurately.

Product Experience   I've tried it

I had this tuner with a Fender Standard Jazz, and the thing worked great up until the A and especially E string. The tuner simply couldn't track the frequencies (this is with the tone rolled off, using only the bridge pickup and plucking at the 12th fret). Not sure if the tuner I had was defective (since there are nothing but rave reviews on this one), but I returned it. I ended up picking up a TC Electronics Polytune 2 (which costs the same amount), and had no problems whatsoever. This tuner should really be in the $40-50 range when there are much better ones out there for the same price.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
