This AAX 11 inch X-Plosion splash is special in its ability to sound great at any volume level. I use it with my cajon in a small jazz setting. It cuts through other sounds with real clarity even when played with brushes or struck by hand. On top of that, it responds with real speed, and its compact size means I can pack it (with care) in my cajon bag. I like it a lot.
