I called this the guitar slayer initially! It will cut through and be heard in any mix! But don’t think it’s like a mega bell ride, or a power ride. This is not those. It has tone, colour and sensitivity for jazz! Pop, and funk. I got the natural 22” version and just love it. I’d been searching for the ride for me for a long time. In fact all through my 31 years of playing! Initially used it in my rock covers and and now should band. Wow. It’s so versatile! And thank you to one of the most amazing players we will ever see! Neil Peart and Sabina made this fabulous cymbal. I like it so much so I now have high hats! A China and an 18 crash on order. We will remember you Neil and thank you for all that you gave us.

Love the manhole cover. Very heavy cymbal with a quick response and strong bell tones when needed.

I bought this about 7 months ago and it hasn't lost a single ounce of tone, and mind you I hit pretty hard. Neil chose the name paragon, a word used to describe a perfect diamond, to call his very own line of cymbals. Anybody who plays this cymbal will know exactly why he named it what and why he did-it truly is a perfect cymbal. I used to own a 20" AAX Metal ride, but it was used when I bought it and the finish had worn off of it, along with it's tone, I might as well have been using the lid from a garbage can. I decided it was time for a new ride, and I knew I didn't want to buy Zildjian or Paiste (Sabian player since I began playing drums nearly 10 years ago). I instantly knew that I had to buy it. The bow offers a crisp full bodied ping with warm undertones, that fills the room with just enough volume regardless of how hard you hit it. The bell is medium-pitched but also full bodied which compliments the tonal qualities in the bow. If you listen to Snakes & Arrows/Clockwork Angels, the recordings capture the true to life sound of the ride if you haven't heard it in the same room. For $300 (a Stewart Copeland sig Paiste ride will out you $500+) it's practically a steal. I wouldn't trade it for any other ride, and once this one goes, I'll definitely be purchasing another.
