The original volume control in my Squier Affinity Strat was burnt out, so I replaced it the WD model. Had to ream out the pickguard, but otherwise no big deal. The difference in tone was startling; the Squier has bright pickups, but now they sparkle, even a bit too much for some of my amps. The pot is much more sensitive than the original, and that makes it great for Jeff Beck-style swells. The volume at half is not muddy like the original, so it is much better for background rhythm.
