Soundcraft Ui24R 24-Channel Digital Mixer / Multi-Track USB Recorder with Wireless Control

The Soundcraft Ui24R is a complete, rack-mountable, digital mixing and multi-track recording system that delivers flexible I/O, pristine sound quality, intuitive wireless control, and roadworthy reliability - all in a streamlined design. The system can be controlled by up to 10 devices via Ethernet or built-in dual-band Wi-Fi, making it possible to control mixing and multitrack recording wirelessly.

Ui24R provides 24 input channels, including 10 combo/XLR, 10 XLR, two line level, and two digital mix channels for a total of 24 simultaneous inputs. Renowned Studer preamps deliver rich sound for live performance and multi-track recording applications, while iconic Lexicon reverbs, choruses, delays, and dbx compression offer polished results for vocals, acoustic guitar and more. dbx AFS2 automatic feedback suppression is available on all monitor outputs, providing an excellent live experience. Plus, two channels of DigiTech guitar and amp modeling bring a host of effects to any performance or recording, particularly when low stage volume is desired.

Ui24R redefines the live mixing experience by giving engineers the freedom to control mixes from anywhere in the venue. Up to 10 devices can be connected simultaneously across reliable dual-band Wi-Fi, so musicians can adjust their individual mix on stage while the FOH engineer optimizes the audience experience. Thanks to HTML5 compatibility, the system can be controlled from any modern browser - including iOS, Android, Windows, Mac OS and Linux devices - without installing any apps.

Ui24R allows engineers and musicians to redundantly record their stereo mix, plus all 22 inputs, directly to a USB storage drive and a connected computer. The Ui24R is equally at home as the centerpiece of a multi-track recording studio, with easy integration between its USB audio interface and the user's DAW of choice.

Soundcraft Ui24R is part of the HARMAN Connected PA family of products, and offers full compatibility with the new HARMAN Connected PA app for easy control, fast setup and better-quality results. Connected PA eliminates the need for multiple apps or graphic user interfaces (GUIs) and delivers seamless plug-and-play operation with a variety of HARMAN equipment so users can control their entire live sound system with one app. Products within the Connected PA system self-identify with the new app for effortless set up, and setup wizards help customers to quickly optimize volume, configuration settings and sound quality.

From the stage to the studio, Soundcraft Ui24R is the ultimate system for artists, venues and engineers who need to save space and deliver superior sound.

Once you get past it's flaws, limitations, and power problems, this is a very versatile, fantastic sounding live mixer. The preamps are the best I have heard in this price point. The on board recording function is a wonderful feature that when synced with video will up most peoples game if you want to share a great performance. I've used the output for livestreaming with fantastic results.

This unit does everything and it does it extremely well. It’s a live mixer, a daw interface, an effects rack, a mixing board (with ANY Wi-Fi device - phone, tablet, computer). It’s absolutely brilliant. I got rid of the latest presonus board, decided against boards in general and opted not to get behringer or Midas digital mixer equivalents because: The UI24r is a much Smarter Buy. Build Nice strong metal enclosure with good rack ears. Put it in a 4U gator box or something like that for road use and you’re done. You can probably just lay it on your desk for home use. Connections The preamps are awesome for live. They seem great for recording and I’m told by those with more experience that they are excellent. I’ve had no issues with any connections. The usb interface works great with my DAW. WI-FI The ui24r sends its own Wi-Fi signal and it’s great. Some say they have had drops, but I believe it may have do with the location. I’ve learned that using channels 1, 6 or 11 are the best if interference is experienced. I also used the 5ghz setting to solve an interference issue, but I’ve never had a problem that was the fault of the device. Once my tablet decided it liked an open Wi-Fi over the ui24r, so I just set the tablet to forget that open Wi-Fi and it was fixed. Otherwise it’s been perfect onstage. Digital interface (Onscreen board/fx) BRILLIANT! This is where soundcraft wins over Midas/behringer. The ui24r Doesn’t use an app, it has a built in digital interface that you access through ANY web browser, which means ANY device with Wi-Fi and a browser can access the digital interface. So if my tablet dies during a show, I can just use my phone, or anyone’s phone, NO APP INSTALLATION NECESSARY. PC, Mac, Linux, anything... genius! (Access is password protectable FYI) The interface itself is intuitive, just like a physical board and rack. I now find it better than a physical board and rack. I actually used both DigiTech guitar modeler channels for many small shows and they are Very good, not tube amps, but close enough for 99.9% of the audience. This helped for touring in a small vehicle in which amps would have been extremely uncomfortable, or a second vehicle needed. Daw interface Absolutely perfect. Logic Pro x sees it automatically and you’re done. I don’t think I could ask this device to do anything else or to be better built. It was $1500 and I previously paid $3000 or more for its functionality. I went from completely green to having a decent understanding of live mixing thanks to the excellent digital layout of the ui24r. Also, when I was dealing with other companies the service was terrible and even shady, but when I called Soundcraft with a question I immediately got a great tech on the line that was pleasant, honest and amazingly helpful. As soon as the ui12 upgrades to an “R” I’ll buy one of those too. Even if you don’t need one of these, buy it and give it to your nephew to support a great product and a great company!

I started with the ui16 and ran with that for a few years and was never disappointed. A few months ago I picked up the ui24R because I had gigs coming up where I was out of inputs. The 24 is without doubt the best digital mixer out there. The user interface is exceptional. The sound quality is awesome. What you get in the box as far as audio processing would be a large U rack on wheels in the analog domain. Its really well thought out and easy to get onto. There is a really well run Facebook group for the mixer where you can get all sorts of advice. Here's an awesome thing. Danny Olesh is the systems architect for the mixer and he is a member of the FB group. He offers really great advice. He's a real cool human being. Anyone thinking of transitioning away from analog gear should give any one of the Ui series a serious look. Tremendous value that won't disappoint. For those who are already mixing in the box and are looking for a flexible option that won't empty your bank account, check the Ui series out. Very highly recommended but they seem to get overlooked for no good reason. Try out the online user interface simulator. Runs just like the mixer.

Let's start with the first thing that makes the Ui series of digital mixers awesome: there's no app. The device is a web server and the user interface is a webpage. Any device that can connect to the device's internal Wifi hotspot and has a modern browser will control this device. It is completely agnostic to device and platform: phone, tablet, laptop, whatever... it can run this mixer. Then there's the fact that up to 10 devices can connect, letting band members control their own mixes. And you can easily connect an outboard router (highly recommended) and connect either with by cable or wirelessly without turning off the internal hotspot. The Studer preamps sound great; there's tons of headroom; EQ and dynamics processing on all ins and outs, with automatic feedback suppression built in on all outputs; sub groups, VCAs, matrixes, and auto-mixing built in AND it's a 32 channel recording interface that can be used live at the same time. It is also dead simple to use. All of the basic controls are setup to be easy to control and the main interface looks a lot like an analog fader bank. I regularly use mine to mix an 8 to 9 piece pop/funk band and have also used it for recording and streaming projects. I highly recommend this unit over any of the other digital box mixers.

Started with the Ui16 but upgraded to the Ui24 last year. As with all digital mixers - especially the 'digital box mixers' like the Ui series, Behringer's X-Air series, and A&H and QSC's offerings - the sticking point with most users is ease of use and the ability to navigate the GUI. The main selling point for me was always that there is no "app": the user interface runs in a web browser and therefore is device agnostic. iPhone, iPad, Android, desktop, laptop, Windows, Mac, Linux. If it is WiFi capable and can run a web browser that supports HTML5, it can control a Ui Series mixer. The Ui24 is a significant upgrade from the Ui12 and 16, though, featuring native touch screen support with built-in HDMI and USB ports, a 32 channel recording interface that integrates with many DAW programs, including the ability to playback live through the mixer, Studer preamps, 4 channels of integrated Lexicon effects, the ability to save effects, dynamics and channel settings, show files, snapshots and scenes, on-board 2.4G and 5G wifi node, up to 10 users simultaneously with a master lockout to let performers run their own mixes with the MoreMe function, and can be easily integrated into any network. Recent firmware updates allow users to cascade 2 Ui24Rs together for expanded channel count or to have separate FOH and monitor control and create scenes that can be triggered remotely by a footswitch or keyboard command. I never though I would be able to get this level of control and performance from a $1400 digital mixer. 10/10 recommend.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
