Wrist Rascal Small Wrist Positioner, fits 1/4 to 1/16 Violins

Additional Photos:

The Wrist Rascal is a great violin wrist practice aid, helping the new student develop proper hand position. New violin students' wrist position needs to be trained correctly from the beginning in order to develop proper technique while avoiding the potential development of bad habits. Any excessive contorting of the wrist or improper alignment of the fingers over the fingerboard is counterproductive. This is where the Wrist Rascal comes in. The Wrist Rascal brings the body of the instrument to the developing young hand, a constant reminder for correction when the wrist is allowed to collapse.
By developing a solid left hand technique the player will be more virtuosic, consistent and ultimately experience more joy and confidence in their own music making and performance!
• Corrects collapsed, "pancake or pizza-pan" wrist.
• Trains the 4th finger to stretch up to the correct placement.
• Strengthens the muscles of the hand, specifically the too often neglected front portion responsible for keeping the 3rd and 4th fingers over the fingerboard.
• Comfortable. Simply a foreshadowing of the hand being closer to the body as it will be when shifting begins.
• The Wrist Rascal is a training device that should be used on and off, as with any other training tool, so that it doesn't become a crutch.
