With the LiveTrak L-12, you can finally mix, record, and monitor with a single piece of gear. Its the only digital console that lets you mix your live performance and record up to 12 discrete channels - all while providing five individual custom headphone mixes.
Effortless Live Mixing - LiveTrak's 12 discrete channels (eight mono plus two stereo) have a 3-band mid-parametric EQ and 16 built-in send effects. Its eight mono channels also have a dedicated compressor. With all these controls plus its 12-segment LED metering, the L-12 offers just what you need for intuitive mixing.
Record Everything, Remix Anywhere - LiveTrak lets you record 12 discrete tracks up to 24-bit/96 kHz WAV audio to an SD card while simultaneously mixing your live show. Tracks are recorded pre-EQ and effects, so they can be transferred to your favorite DAW for further mixing and editing.
Five Custom Monitoring Mixes - Each of LiveTrak's five monitor outputs provides a unique mix, so every performer can create and save a mix that's tailored to their preferences. Its headphone amplifier delivers volume that stands up in any live environment without the need for a separate headphone monitoring setup.
USB Connectivity for Your DAW - LiveTrak is also a 14-in/4-out USB audio interface with flexible routing options, offering unlimited possibilities. Class compliant mode, which enables connection with iOS devices, is also supported.*

This board is not for the beginner unless you’re a quick learner… somewhat of a Swiss Army knife of mixing boards, suitable for a small studio, podcaster, live main/sub mixer and even for daw applications.
It doesn’t do automation very well unless paired with a computer and a midi controller with faders. Although it records audio with good quality, it has only limited file management capabilities so I recommend that audio be transferred or recorded directly to a computer.
It shines when recording a band jamming out ideas or for the podcaster who wants to archive the show.
Personally, I’m using it in a home studio setting with a keyboard controller, mics, instruments etc. and a computer. I find that as an educational tool and it’s potential for expanded uses and adaptability to a wide array of performance situations make the Livetrak L12 a good value.

I've had this mixer for over a year now and it's perfect for use in my home studio. Having 5 headphone outputs is great for use with in ear monitor systems, or for routing to floor monitors. It was super easy to level set 2 guitars, a bass and 4 vocal inputs. I may upgrade to the L20 in order to get enough inputs to fully mic the drums (currently have 1 overhanging the set), but if you are looking for a nice unit to record multiple instruments/vocals, and feed that into a multitrack program (I use Abelton Live) this is a great unit for that. Super handy to be able to record directly to the SD card so that when we set up live somewhere we don't need the full band present to sound check, just play back a recent recording. Overall a fantastic unit, no regrets whatsoever with this purchase!

I've been fiddling with this machine for a couple of months, but I'm not able to do any real recording on my DAW/pt. Any signal I try comes out garbled. Some recordings are fine to start with then become scratchy and clippy. I've tried all the session settings, nothing seems to work. I don't know if it's pro tools, my computer or the l12. It works great as a mixer/onboard recorder.
The mike preamp is ok with some tweaking. It would be nice to have the on board fx on the different channels for recording effects from the mike channel for instance. I understanding there's a fix for that coming.
Overall the machine is solid, no other issues. I'll try to work around the aformentioned I'm thinking of trying a focusrite interface

I was previously using Soundcraft UI16. Great mixer for live shows- but no Audio Interface and a bit of a nuisance to connect to a computer or tablet every time I want to change a setting. Used Scarlett 2I4 as audio interface. also great equipment- but only 2 channels
Traded both in on Livetrak L12 on Tuesday. On Saturday I mixed sound and recorded a live 6 hour jam (in about one hour segments onto SD card) with 5-6 musicians. Set up was painless. Play back was surprisingly clear. Left my laptop and tablet at home
Today I copied the files into Sonar and have been editing down the individual songs.
Multi track audio interface works great with Sonar Artist
. the only difficulty I had was installing the drivers. for some reason the utility gave no indication of progress but actually did complete the installation
For me the convenience of a live mixer, ability to record a show and multi track audio interface were the features I have been looking for.
Can't wait to record the next jam session

The features this has is pretty incredible. Ok, you may think this thing sounds cheap and just looks ok. Right off the hop I had to check the mic pres which sound remarkably good. Clear, transparent with ample headroom and a low noise floor hold promise of value.
The L12 can be used as a live mixer with onboard effects that actually sounds a decent option when needing some spatial enhancements. Again, not overly sophisticated but certainly capable in many situations.
The L12 is also a DAW control device allowing 14 tracks in. Built in one knob compression is a useful tool and a sweepable EQ. I believe it works with most DAWs.
Another great feature is that it is Device Compliant which makes this unit iOS compatible!! Works in GarageBand!
So many variations to utilize this handy feature rich device that i nearly for to mention that this is also a stand alone multitrack recorder!! 14 tracks simultaneously!
This thing literally can do it all. Not having it for too long I can already sense great potential and convenience. I am very impressed by the functionality.
I had an issue with some playback issue that made me contact zoom support.
Boom!! Blown away again! I send an email off to the just before midnight, I had a response before noon the next day!!! From a real person addressing my specific question. They have made me a believer. ?
