Sound
Six decades ago Thomastik-Infeld invented the high twist spiral rope core used in SPIROcore strings. For 60 years and counting it still remains unrivalled! SPIROcore strings stand out with a distinctive focus, a brilliant and clear top and a very powerful bottom, ideal for dark sounding instruments.

Stability & Response
These strings have a very long life span and will support your every move and tone. The spiral rope core enables prompt translation of every impulse from the left hand or bow into an expressive and powerful sound. These strings support professional musicians, performing in orchestras or chamber music. You will be impressed by a long sustain, growl, punch and power but also with a great dynamic range and a multiplicity of tone colors. Designed to set the standard for the greatest Jazz players, more and more Arco soloists continue to discover the beauty of sound and playability of SPIROcore strings.

I have an expensive double bass. Baby Dove bought me one for a retirement present. After 3 years it became "1st call" for bands gigs. I traded it in for a repaired Shen 190W and with a haircut on top (the repair ) and one on the bottom (the old bass), I could afford it. I loved the Zyex I had on it but after a few years the D string started to get a little fuzzy, I put these on as it was what I could get and I am happy to report a much louder bass that is simply easier to amplify. It is tighter on the top and reinforced my sound post as it was a little "loose" with the Zyex.
