There's a way to do almost anything with this. It gets music flowing fast whether it's beats, basslines, pads, chords, leads, random basic hype-man "yeah" samples. Has performance stuff like stutter scratching and stuff like a DJ setup, can mix tracks and parts. GREAT SAMPLER. I have hardware samplers, DAWs and I'd rather use this because of the HW/SW combo. Can do everything without looking at the screen. Can use this as a midi controller without the maschine software. When I think about buying something HW or SW I first ask myself before buying, can I do it with maschine?

I recently bought the Maschine, and find it to be well designed and easy to use. Comes stock with enough sounds and presets to get started. The DAW is a bit weird at first but over all even a beginner (like myself) can learn the basics in a short amount of time.

The Maschine MK3 is a brilliant tool for anybody serious about getting their studio up and running quickly.
The only drawback to it was downloading all the software. Be ready to spend at least 4-5 hours online, even with gigabit speeds.
Great sounds and an intuitive workflow make Maschine standout from the competition. For what you are getting in terms of NI instruments and libraries it really is a no-brainer.

After looking long and hard for the right solution for our music making needs, we opted for two of these along with the NI Komplete Ultimate bundle. We have pretty much all NI products now including the S62, A61 and A32 keyboards along with the Traktor Kontrol DJ Deck. The heart and soul of our kit though is this amazing product. The Maschine is very intuitive with all its functions and the location of its buttons. You can easily use it without having to touch the computer and software (Which I prefer) or you can control it through the software on the PC or Mac. I suggest that you have a faster computer and SSD Hard Drive with 16GB or more RAM in order to ensure you are not waiting too long in between searching your beats. Only negative comment is that the software is a massive hog of resources that can sometimes cause crashes if it max's out to much (Save often).

It's a nice device that you can jump into right away. Once you start diving into it, look out. There is so much to know (not saying that's a bad thing) and the manual is about 1000 pages. If your a real gear head this is for you. I do like it. As well please know people that this is NOT a stand alone!!!!
