This is a truly beautiful work that allows soloist and ensemble to all enjoy opportunities to shine. Homage is paid through a few harmonic devices characteristic of Howard Hanson, namely suspensions and superimposed triads. Not outrageously demanding from a technical sense, the musicality of the composer's work makes this a true gem.
