Tried it at long and mcquade and I fell in love with it. Fast neck great tone thinking about buying it and might swap the pickups for real gibson humbucker as well.

Bought it from L&M rental department so the price was reasonable. Always loved SGs, having owned one years ago and thought I'd 'give it a try'. The neck is a bit chunky compared to my old one but is nice to play and old ones with narrower necks used to have neck problems, (mine sure did, maybe because of the length compared to the body? but that's why I sold it) I'm pretty sure this one will survive. I swapped out the pickups for real Gibson humbuckers and it really came to life, this guitar plays great and sounds really sweet!!! Really happy to have it.

Like good bourbon, this guitar is smooth and feels just right. Since I got it, I can't put it down...play it for hours. Make sure you double check the setup. It comes with the purchase from L&M, but when after playing, the intonation was slightly off...not enough to be irritating, but enough that when next time I change strings, I'll get it corrected.

Unlike the guy who posted what a terrible guitar this is, I checked it out here in Hamilton because of his review I bought this guitar. I wanted to see how bad a Gibson guitar could be. I found the the vintage 490 and 491 pick ups were excellent and the sound was clear( I used a Fender Princeton amp in the store). Even though this is a stripped down version of an SG, it has great qualities. All the bells and whistles worked and the soft case that comes the guitar is awesome. I say to you "Mr Poor Quality", you are totally wrong about this guitar. For the price and the fact that this plays and sounds like a good Gibson SG, I would recommend this guitar to everyone!

Incredible value for the price! Thick chunky neck (c shape?). Gibson deluxe tuners are worry free Pickups are very articulate, especially the bridge. You can't get more honest and straight forward than an sg. So comfortable. Easy playing.

Spongey maple neck, low quality tuners, hardware that seems cheap, wobbly pots, horrible muddy sounding pick ups. This guitar is absolute junk. Stay as far away from this guitar as you possibly can.
