These are the perfect drums to move beyond the limitations of a conventional acoustic set, without giving anything up. Featuring large dual-hoop pads with mesh heads and sensitivity adjustment knobs, Strike Pro delivers an incredibly responsive drumming experience, with great feel and control. Strike's premium wood shell drums come in standard acoustic drum sizes (14" snare, 8-10-12-14" toms and 14" kick), so you'll instantly feel at home when you sit behind them.

The New Standard in Electronic Cymbals
Strike cymbals - 16" 3-zone ride, (3) 14" crashes w/choke and 12" hi hat - are also an exciting step forward. They feel spectacularly realistic: a perfect blend of feel, control and bounce. They offer a larger bell area for enhanced playability, along with a cool "hammered look."

I received this as a gift and was excited until my brand new kit arrived with no snare stand, USB cable or SD card. None the less I purchased the missing pieces and the first issue after going through videos and tutorials to make sure I did it right the kick was DOA. Alesis great customer support walked through tests and ascertained to send me a new one. All was well with new kick for 3 more weeks and the wiring harness failed. Fast forward two months Tom4 started flaking out. I replaced the kit. The best part of this was the excellent customer service received from Alesis and Kevin and the team in the Oshawa location of L&M

For starters, it really wasn't until firmware version 1.5 that things finally started to work as they should... But not always. There is an additional price to pay with this kit and that is patience and tweaking until the kit responds and behaves properly. But after that, if you managed to get it right, it's all very good. Build quality is really good for the environment it lives in here. The studio. I can't speak for it's road worthiness and you will have to note what other owners say about gigging and moving the kit around often. The feel and response of the mesh heads are better than I expected they would be and can take a good amount of punishment while still able to respond to very subtle or quick playing action. The hi-hat issue if you haven't already read about out there, has gone away mostly with updates and tweaks. Fun and accurate to play. More color choices would have been great too. Sound quality? If you're new to the world of e-drums or are looking for something to just beat on for a bit of work or pleasure, the modules included samples should make you happy and there are plenty. When used to trigger samples from VST kits from some of the heavy hitters like BFD, Superior Drummer 3 or Native Instruments Studio Drummer, this kit shines and somehow feels much better overall. It's worth every penny if you are not expecting to open all the boxes, set it up and everything to just blow your mind immediately. That's what some kits, not all, that cost twice as much or more will usually do. Be patient, search the web for help which is out there, get all the updates installed and start tweaking. After that, things get much better with this kit.

I bought this in 2017 and have already had to have my snare drum replaced twice, and now the third snare drum has broken along with the smallest Tom and ride cymbal. Always the same issue: they simply can’t take even modest use. I only play a few times per week. I wish I could go back and get something else. Such a waste of money. :(

low quality piece of junk with terrible feel. there is a reason it costs so little. If you're looking for a high quality kit, get a Rolland, even there cheaper kits are great. for example, the TD11k. its rubber pads feel more realistic than this kit's mesh heads

I've had this for a couple of weeks now. Pros: - the pre-loaded sounds are actually better than I expected - sensitivity knobs are on the shells, plus you can adjust the sensitivity in the module - pads feel great (look great too, if that matters to you) - like having the EQ as faders instead of having to dig around a menu - module is pretty easy to use, except I can't find a metro-gnome. Maybe it's hiding in my garden? - comes with t-clamps! - nice to have the rack legs as cymbal holders, but of course the con is you're limited to cymbal placement. Cons: - false triggers (I'm still on the 1.0 firmware, doing tests and video review) - rack vibration causes triggering sometimes (I haven't figured out how to eliminate it, but I think you can by messing with theh xTalk settings?) - loved how my TD-9 would automatically choose the pad you hit when you want to change sounds, this one you need to use the dial to select the pad - no positional sensing on the snare so playing ghost notes isn't awesome, but it's still very good. - bass drum is quite bouncy, even when the pad is loosened. Overall, I'm pleased. The TD-30 is the same price and you get way more value for your money with this set.

I have been steadily playing with the 11pc kit since early August 2017. Before I brought it home, the great guys at LnM Belleville updated the module. Very important update. Before you do anything, do that first. As such I have had no issues with the hi-hat or triggering. There are so many great video tutorials online that can help address almost anything you are having troubles with. (i,e- triggering, sensitivity, response, sustain, and on and on.) There are also many that deal with the more technical issues and features of the kit. Youtube has lots and there is a Facebook page dedicated to fellow users/owners to share thier knowledge, tips and tricks. That is very helpful as well. There are many pros with kit, but one con for sure. The rack mount clamps for the Tom's are plastic. So they can't be cranked. I found the heavier 14in Tom was dropping after prolonged playing. To fix this issue, I purchased 4 Gibraltar 1.5in memory clamps for $18. (I just put one on every tom mount, problem solved) In reality, Alesis should just supply them with the kit for the sake of quality and strength. The pros are many, so I'll simply say " this kit and it's module are very versatile. If you take the time to learn all the different features and options, you will be able to build/modify/adjust/program/design almost anything you can imagine a kit can do. The ultimate "pro" is the price. It is well worth the money. My last 2 pieces of advice are, get a good set of headphones. Don't cheap out. Get ones with some bottom end so you can really hear and feel what you're playing. Finally, don't use a fabric beater on the bass drum head. Use wood, plastic or throw on a "beater patch" All mesh heads deteriorate quickly when using those polyester/cotton/fiber beaters. Not sure why but it will. Lol

I tried one out at L & M Saskatoon. It was pretty awesome. The bass drum moved some air and felt like a bass drum. The kit itself felt like a Roland but the price felt better. The sounds were great - sounded like real drums. Definitely worth considering.

Very full featured set, but it is not built to take abuse. Drum triggers are temperamental, cymbal triggers are worse, and the hardware is very delicate and easily stripped and broken. Sounds are ok, and liked the sampling features. Would consider for a studio or student, but would never take on the road. On the first real gig I had the kit, the kick drum beater went through the head. Going back to Roland. Had a td9 for years with no problems.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
