The JCM25/50 Silver Jubilee Series was produced in 1987 to celebrate 25 years of Marshall Amplification and 50 years of Jim Marshall being in the music business. Inspired by this acclaimed series, the 20 Watt Mini Jubilee combo and 'small box' head combine classic Silver Jubilee preamp tone, features and styling in a lower power, 'mini' design.

This contemporary 'mini' take on the Jubilee Series features an ECC83 & EL34 valve-set, High/Low output switching, (20 Watt to 5 Watt), FX Loop and independent 4/8/16 Ohm speaker outputs.

In keeping with true Jubilee tone, the 2525's preamp is identical to the full sized 2555X amp, released in 2015, made using the original diagrams and checked against the original 2555 Silver Jubilee head in the Marshall Museum. The amp also features classic silver vinyl and chrome plated panelling to complete the Jubilee look.

I recently purchased this amp at the attic sale. This thing is great! I had the SV20 briefly and it was awesome but very loud. With this you can play with a great tone at a lower volume. It’s got a really good clean channel too. I highly recommend this amp!!!

If you’re inclined to be sceptical about the scale of price as it applies to amps don’t be...this amp is so insanely great it’s hard to imagine it’s only this much.

I've owned this amp for a few weeks now. I've had it out to band paractice and I can say that it has more than enough gas to get above and cut through the mix. It's small and light, has beautiful cleans, great Jubilee rock tones. I've found that it has no issue taking OD or Distortion pedals if you know how to gain stack properly to push it over the top, but still under control. I wish the rythym clip was footswitchable because it mellows out the Marshall aggression highs in lead mode. Setting the input gain around 5-6 allowed for great cleans and ballsy rock crunch to be called up easily. Add in a nice OD or Boost pedal of your choice, set the gain conservatively and this amp can be pushed hard into upper gain levels without sounding like a swarm of bees in an empty beer can. The eq section response changes a lot depending on how the input gain is set. Play with it and dial it in. 20 watt mode starts to open up with the master output level getting above 3-4, and the lead master around 5-6 and it gets loud in a home practice situation. 5 watt mode can do the trick as well. The fx loop should have a volume control imo but that can be modded. I've got the matching 2x12 vertical on its way. Marshall did a great job on this amp. Highly recommend if you're after awesome hard rock crunch/lead and sweet cleans. It can hold its own with some organic metal tones as well considering it's not a super high gain amp.

This little head has more than enough balls for gigging and band practice with gas still left. It is what it is...no frills easy to use RnFnR amp that is perfect for home use in the 5watt low power mode too. Delay, trem, phaser and verb sound great through the loop. Great cleans and overdriven rock tone w/Les Paul Standard. Now I want all the Mini Studio Marshalls with matching 2x12 vertical slant cabs.

when the tubes are humming it just sounds great! Doesn't seem to take distortion pedals well but nothing beats the gain on the amp.

I have owned a few good amps, Marshalls and other like DrZ, and Mesa Boogie, this one has a unique tone and versatile, just a bit picky taking delay and reverb peals, but I figure it out after trying a few different ones, at the end and a bit of patience I got it working like a charm

This little guy really rocks! It has the same layout as it's original 1987 brothers so the same compromises are made - mainly the shared Gain between both channels. If you set the Gain for a reasonable Clean on Channel 1, there isn't enough for soaring leads solos on channel 2. I simply get clean-ish plus use an OD pedal to goose it. If you want Classic Crunch, the Rhythm Clip mode on Ch 1 will get you there. The lead channel is nice thick Jubilee tone. That's where I live! Very quiet amp, excellent effects loop and the 5 watt / 20 watt switch is very useful. It's a nice way to get that classic Jubilee tone in a compact head that uses El34's and not have to haul around the big boys.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
