Vintage Growl with Clarity

The TV Classic captures the vintage twang and growl of a late 1950's, and early 1960's vintage Filter'Tron. The neck pickup is a re-creation of the original Ray Butts/ Gretsch design. The bridge position is compensated with slightly more power, and wider pole-to-pole spacing to match the wider string spacing at the bridge. The TV Classic is TV Jones' most popular pickup. The all-around versatility of a TV Classic makes this a great choice for rock, blues, rockabilly, country and more!

Bridge: Designed with more power and wider pole-to-pole spacing to balance with the neck pickup.
DC Resistance: 4.8K | Inductance: 1.83H

Neck: A replica of the 1959 PAT. APPLIED FOR Filter'Tron
DC Resistance: 4.0K | Inductance: 1.40H

Tone/Characteristic:
Between a Fender (brighter single coil) & Gibson (darker and thicker) Classic growl and grind when you dig in. Clean, compressed treble.

Includes:
Ships with 2 wood screws, compression rubber, 2 humbucker screws with springs and clips. Rings for suspending pickup sold separately.

*Ships with 4 conductor wiring - ready for standard 2 conductor hook-up. Red and green wires are soldered and taped off for standard wiring - send red and green wires to ground for splitting coils. Splitting coils is not recommended for the TV Classic due to lower coil power (but will work). However, it is convenient for custom switching. Example: where coils from other pickups are combined in series, or parallel.

This is a really nice sounding neck pickup. I found the stock neck pickup on my Gretsch Electromatic to be thin and a bit dark. This made it sound like a new guitar. The notes are now bright, clear and full sounding. It handles distortion very well. I put a TV Jones Classic Plus in the bridge and couldn't be happier with how it sounds. I highly recommend.

I bought a guild starfire v and I absolutely hated the pickups. I don’t know if I just got a lemon but they had no body to them . They just seemed flat but I liked so much about it . The biggest problem is the guild lb1 are smaller than a normal humbucker so the Seymour Duncan Seth lovers I like wouldn’t fit without a doing some big modifications to the guild. So I took a gamble with the classic and honestly I was surprised to find out that I didn’t need to mod or buy new rings they fit perfectly in the guild. They weren’t what I was expecting but I’m fine with that because it made the guild sound like a “real guitar” after tweaking the pickups hight the guitar really came alive and they pair up so well with my vintage tube amp and I must say I’ve never heard anything sound that good in the old amp . I’d definitely recommend these
