Description

The CLUB boasts the best specifications and best sound, making it an ideal choice for Club DJs in any environment: studio, broadcast or club.

  • The CLUB features a Special-Elliptic stylus that allows for detailed sound quality: Special-Elliptic stylus fits better in the groove and therefore has more contact area with the groove itself, extracting more intricate details, than is possible with a spherical diamond.

  • The CLUB's 8 mV output voltage requires less gain from the preamps, providing cleaner sound reproduction and less susceptibility to feedback in live environments.

The CLUB offers an outstanding platform for archival and sampling.

Includes:

1x Concorde MkII MIX cartridge with preinstalled stylus

Q & A

Question: Can you scratch with this cartridge?
- asked on Jun 3, 2026
Answer: Yes, you technically can scratch and back-cue with the Ortofon Concorde MkII CLUB, but it is not recommended for heavy scratching.

The CLUB series is Ortofon's premier high-fidelity cartridge designed for uncompromising sound quality and vinyl transfers, rather than hardcore DJ tricks. Here is why it isn't ideal for scratching:

Stylus Shape: It features a Special Elliptical diamond stylus.

While this provides excellent detail, extended frequency response, and crisp highs, elliptical styli sit deeper in the groove. They are prone to jumping out of the groove during aggressive scratches and will cause higher record wear if back-cueing heavily compared to spherical needles.Tracking Force: It tracks at roughly 3.0g, which is decent, but not as locked-down as dedicated scratch styli.
