Erland is an experienced and dedicated musician with a diploma in music from VCC. Erland has been teaching guitar and bass for over 25 years. He has an enthusiastic personality and enjoys teaching many different styles of music. Erland can also teach ukulele. As well, he runs our rock band program, showing young musicians how to play as a group. He welcomes students of any age and ability.

Now living in Canada Esteban was born in Mexico City and began his musical formation very young. He holds a bachelor's degree in Jazz Music Performance and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences. He has 30 years of professional experience as a full-time musician and has performed, recorded and toured with artists all over North America, Latin America, and Europe. He has received numerous awards and grants and was nominated for a Juno in 2022 for Jazz Album of the Year (Group) for the album THE PROPHET by the Esteban Herrera Quintet. Esteban offers lessons at the Calgary Chinook store and his rate is $33 per half hour.

Étienne Fournier est un guitariste et professeur passionné qui a commencé la guitare à l’âge de 8 ans. Étienne Fournier is a passionate guitarist and teacher who started playing guitar at the age of 8. After pursuing music studies, he earned a Techniques diploma in Jazz Performance from Cégep de St-Laurent, a Bachelor's degree in Music – Artistic Practice from UQÀM, and a DESS in Film Scoring from UQÀM. As an artist, he regularly performs on stage with various bands, both in cover performances and original compositions, and masters a wide range of styles from pop and rock to jazz. Étienne Lacasse is a composer and guitarist from Quebec City with a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Sherbrooke. Trained in jazz-pop guitar, he has developed solid teaching experience with students of all ages, whom he accompanies in both individual lessons and group workshops. His teaching style emphasizes creativity, listening, and the joy of playing, while incorporating theory and technique concepts adapted to each student's level.
In addition to his teaching activities, Étienne composes for film, television, and video games, exploring both classical orchestration and electroacoustic textures. He also arranges video game pieces for wind orchestra and accompanies artists in their projects.

Eva is an RCM piano program graduate with extensive education in piano, violin, flute, cello, and theory. Obtaining her Bachelors Degree of Music at McMaster University and her ARCT at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Eva has the ability to instruct contemporary and all RCM levels. She has been giving lessons in the Markham area for over 20 years. In addition, Eva performs frequently at various venues for weddings, ceremonies, and festivals of all kinds.

Filip Vujanovic is completing his Bachelors of Music in guitar at the University of Calgary under the tutelage of Ralph Maier. Filip’s music career started in high school by singing and playing guitar in several rock bands. With 9 years of teaching experience, he is committed to bring out the best in his students development and enjoyment of music and guitar. He utilizes a comprehensive approach incorporating guitar technique, music theory, harmony and history with a learning style that is intuitive, fun and adapts to the student in a unique way. Fiona has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition from the University of Toronto, a Master of Music from Newcastle University, where she studied composition and improvisation, and a Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University, specializing in clarinet performance. Fiona also studied piano and voice privately. Fiona has taught music in various settings including private music lessons, workshops, and University music courses. In addition to teaching music, Fiona also works as a music director, performs music in a variety of styles, and is an award-winning composer whose song cycle “Lady of the Lake” was nominated for an ECMA for Classical Composition of the Year in 2018. Gabriel Campos a commencé sa formation musicale dès son jeune âge grâce à l’influence de sa famille de musiciens. Il détient une technique professionnelle de musique et de chanson au Cégep de Drummondville et un baccalauréat en composition de musique à l’image à l’Université de Sherbrooke.
Tout au long de sa carrière d’interprète, il a fait partie de plusieurs ensembles en tant que guitariste (classique/électrique), bassiste, et même en tant que percussionniste. Ces groupes lui ont permis de se familiariser avec une grande variété de styles musicaux, en passant par le rock, le reggae, la musique populaire, le blues et beaucoup d’autres. Throughout his career as a performer, he has been a member of several ensembles as a guitarist (classical/electric), bassist, and even as a percussionist. These groups have allowed him to familiarize himself with a wide variety of musical styles, from rock, reggae, popular music, blues and many others. Gabriela has a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Ottawa, where she studied cello with Paul Marleyn, as well as an Orchestral Certificate Diploma under David Currie. She has been active as a teacher and performer since 1997 and is also a Certified Suzuki Teacher. Gabriela focuses much of her performing in the classical genre but has also participated in other events such as rock concerts, Video Games Live and recently in the orchestra for “La Machine”. She teaches both Suzuki and RCM methods for violin, viola and cello.

Multi-instrumentalist Gage Salnikowski plays over 50 different instruments, and has used his skills as performer, composer, educator, and multidisciplinary artist, to produce and perform a wide variety of material. From experimental orchestral and jazz, to ambient pop, indy rock, funk, and technical metal, Gage has equal experience performing the avant-garde in art galleries and concerts halls as he does touring with local acts.
Notably, Gage's work was recently featured on CBC television, CBC radio, City TV, and CKUW for recording classical symphonies as a one man orchestra, playing every instrument himself.
Gage teaches at our Winnipeg (Pembina) lesson centre.

Genevieve Cunningham (she/her), originally from Nova Scotia, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance and a Masters degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Memorial University. She is classically trained in Opera.
Genevieve is also RCM Certified in both voice and piano. She has a diverse background in various different styles of music including musical theatre, pop, and Celtic music. She also has experience in choirs.
Genevieve is a bilingual artist in French and English, proficient in both languages since childhood. She enjoys writing her own music for voice and piano, and is very passionate about allowing students to explore and express their own musicality. Genevieve's rate is $28 per 30 minute lesson.

A graduate from VCC, Gerard obtained his BMus in Classical Voice Performance in 2013. He has been teaching at Long & McQuade since 2016. Taking what he has learned from opera and the art of classical music, Gerard focuses on enhancing common vocal practices in more modern styles of singing such as musical theatre and pop. He places a strong emphasis on applying proper vocal technique to any genre of music. A few of the techniques Gerard focuses on are: range expansion, creating a richer tone with depth, developing the chest, head and mixed registers, cultivating vibrato, working through the various passagios, establishing healthy belting in both chest and mixed registers, and improving diction, breathing, phrasing and much more. In 2018, Gerard began teaching at Douglas College running both the music theory and aural skills/ear training prep courses for students entering the music diploma or music therapy programs. From 2015 to 2021, Gerard served as the Assistant Director and Head Teacher of Voice, Theory, Music History, Aural Skills and Ear Training at Bravo Music in Vancouver. From 2011 to 2014, Gerard was a tenor soloist and section leader for both Pacific Spirit Choir and West Vancouver United Church Choir in West Vancouver. He is very well versed with the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum and has helped hundreds of students prepare for exams in rudiments, harmony, history and voice from preparatory to ARCT level. Graham began his piano practice at the age of 10 and has been teaching piano since 2018.
He graduated from Collège Lionel-Groulx in Sainte-Thérèse in Composition and Arrangement where he studied Jazz/Pop piano with his teacher Denis Fauché. It was also there that he discovered the Ableton Live software and a real passion for composition under the guidance of his teacher Louis-Philippe Quesnel. Graham won the CEGEP en spectacle competition in 2019 as a solo artist where he played his own composition on the piano and in 2020 where he played with his new duo < Malfé > which explores the timbral universe of piano, synthesizers and noise. He started his Bachelor's degree in Digital Music at the University of Montreal in the fall of 2021.
