Desirae started her musical journey like many children do around 6 years old in traditional private music lessons. Her first instrument of study was piano and soon doubled into voice. Beyond solo performances she moved into a leadership role running a youth choir where she first played music with other instrumentalists. Trained in classical piano and voice for 14 years, she was accepted to the Bachelor of Jazz and Contemporary Music program at MacEwan University and begun teaching privately in 2013. Her university adventures focused on Piano Composition and quickly inspired her to dive into other instruments. Today Desirae teaches Piano, Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, and Theory in a wide range of styles. She prefers to approach lessons with an environment of enjoyment while providing a healthy foundation to the student’s technical playing. Regardless of your music goals, she is eager to help you explore different ways to learn your instrument(s) of choice.

Erika Dauphinee is a classically trained musician with an ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music, specializing in voice, piano, and music theory. She studied jazz piano and musical theatre in university and has extensive experience in teaching Speech Level Singing, the Alexander Technique, and Contemporary Vocal Technique. Erika has performed with Alberta theatre companies, worked in the film industry, and sung with Pro Coro Canada. Her lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, enhancing students' communication, patience, and confidence. Erika customizes each lesson to match her students' goals and learning styles, often incorporating music-related games to keep classes enjoyable. Fiona has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition from the University of Toronto, a Master of Music from Newcastle University, where she studied composition and improvisation, and a Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University, specializing in clarinet performance. Fiona also studied piano and voice privately. Fiona has taught music in various settings including private music lessons, workshops, and University music courses. In addition to teaching music, Fiona also works as a music director, performs music in a variety of styles, and is an award-winning composer whose song cycle “Lady of the Lake” was nominated for an ECMA for Classical Composition of the Year in 2018. Genevieve Cunningham (she/her), originally from Nova Scotia, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance and a Masters degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Memorial University. She is classically trained in Opera.
Genevieve is also RCM Certified in both voice and piano. She has a diverse background in various different styles of music including musical theatre, pop, and Celtic music. She also has experience in choirs.
Genevieve is a bilingual artist in French and English, proficient in both languages since childhood. She enjoys writing her own music for voice and piano, and is very passionate about allowing students to explore and express their own musicality. Genevieve's rate is $28 per 30 minute lesson.

Geneviève Labbé is a singer-songwriter originally from Quebec City who has been based in Victoriaville for the past 20 years. She has produced several albums and completed numerous performing arts projects. She teaches singing and songwriting and accompanies her students on the piano, ukulele and guitar. Guerschon Auguste is an emerging artist who likes to combine Gospel music with pop, jazz and classical. As a member of the Jireh Gospel Choir, he performed on the TD stage at the 2016 Montreal International Jazz Festival. He also made a few appearances on television shows and sang back vocals for renowned artists such as Bobby McFerrin and Corneille. In 2019, Guerschon completed his bachelor’s degree in Jazz Interpretation under the mentorship of Vincent Morel. He regularly participates in Gospel workshops at Place des Arts and does studio recordings for various artists. He teaches singing and piano. He occasionally conducts the Jireh Choir and creates vocal arrangements for local Gospel artists. Guerschon has been teaching music since 2014.

Jacob is a singer and guitarist, composer and sound engineer. His current band Quickness keeps him busy, and he also does shows as a solo looping artist and owns a recording studio. He has a long list of sound engineering customers including Snoop Dogg and Carly Rae Jepsen. Jacob offers something new to the lesson Centre, with recording, looping and beatboxing in his toolbox of skills. Jacob takes students 6 years old and up and all ability levels. Janel received her education and training in music, recreation and fitness as well as dance and movement, and has been teaching classes in these intersecting areas for nearly 25 years. She develops and implements music and movement programs for people of all ages: babies and preschoolers, elementary, high school and post secondary and the general community. She understands the importance of putting one’s teaching into practice and is an accomplished performer. John has a Bachelors in Music in Voice from Mount Allison University and grade 8 Royal Conservatory of Music piano. John originally entered university on trombone but switched to voice after two years. He has sung both solo and chorally with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, the Elora Festival Singers, Nathaniel Dett Chorale, Mississauga Choral Society, and the Toronto Jewish Folk Choir among others, and he took on the lead role of Pierre Elliott Trudeau in Vocalypse Productions’ presentation of G. E. Clarke and D.D. Jackson’s opera Trudeau: Long March/Shining Path. John has produced a CD of his own pop/adult compositions called ‘A Labour of Love’. He has been teaching music since 1994 and his rate for a half-hour private lesson is $30.

Julia grew up with music all around her. She began musical ear training at six months old and completed Suzuki Music as a child. Throughout her youth, she would pick up several more instruments, learning to sing and finding her voice alongside her love and a lifelong passion for the whimsical world of music.
Julia completed the Piano Suzuki program and her RCM 10, and ARCT by the time she was 18. She pursued other interests and graduated with a Psychology Degree from The Kings University in 2018, but ultimately returned to music and completed the Piano Performance program at Juilliard in 2020. Julia loves teaching all ages and a variety of instruments. She takes pride in helping students build a solid musical foundation. She loves how music can inspire and support individual expression. Instruction in music production and music play adds to her skill set. Julia strives to connect with every type of student and guide students to their goals and beyond. It's never too late or too early to bring music into one's life. Julia has daytime availability for adults and homeschoolers and a few evening spots left as well. Kayla is a freelance musician with over twenty years of experience performing, training and competing in piano and voice. Kayla has been teaching since 2008 and enjoys working with both youth and adults. Kayla believes everyone can and should find their voice. Beginners (who are terrified) are her specialty! Kayla has worked with The Rock and Roll Society of Edmonton (Edmonton Rockfest) as an instructor for their Centre of Arts and Music program since 2015. Kayla graduated from Acadia University in 2021 with a Bachelors of Music Therapy degree and is now a practicing Music Therapist in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Versatile guitarist and vocalist Kyle Cobb is a teacher and performer in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With his personal style rooted in Jazz and American Music, Kyle has pursued his performance degree in Jazz Studies at the University of Manitoba. During his time at the University of Manitoba Kyle studied with many world class musicians (Karly Epp, Jon Gordon, Fabio Ragnelli) and in his first year performed and recorded with the director of his faculty. Kyle has held the guitar chair with many of Winnipeg's best musicians (Julian Bradford, Zachary Rushing, Jared Beckstead) and has worked extensively leading his own band as a vocalist. Kyle is a dedicated educator with nearly a decade of teaching experience and is always seeking to enhance his lessons. Constantly pursuing new musical heights, Kyle is an engaging presence to his peers, his audience, and his students alike. Kyle teaches guitar and voice lessons at our Winnipeg (Pembina) location.

Laena sings and plays piano for Payphones, an alt-folk band that released their debut album in the fall of 2022. A graduate of the Theatre Arts program at MacEwan University, Laena is a theatre kid at heart, and they love finding ways for students to tell stories and express themselves through music. Laura est née au Mexique d’une famille où la musique, la poésie, la peinture, le chant et la danse étaient des activités quotidiennes.
Elle commence le piano à l’âge de 3 ans. Mme, Piedras Dartigues, sa première professeure la guide à travers les exigences techniques et interprétatives de la musique, ce qui lui permet de s’approprier le langage musical, en la faisant sa première langue. Toutes ces connaissances lui permet de développer différentes méthodologies qu’elle applique, avec de magnifiques résultats, à son enseignement de la musique. Elle enseigne pendant 30 ans au Conservatoire National de musique et à l’Institut National des Beaux-Arts du Mexique. Elle dirige l’Orchestre Typique d’Enfants de l’institut des Beaux-Arts pendant 10 ans. Pendant ces années, elle donne des cours à tous les niveaux, y compris des Master Class et différents concerts en Europe et en Asie.
Depuis son arrivée au Québec, Laura chante dans les résidences pour personnes âgées et pour les malades d’Alzheimer. Elle est la directrice musicale du groupe ‘’Flor de Canela’’ qui fait connaître les racines artistiques folkloriques, de différents pays du monde.

Laura was born in Mexico in a family where music, poetry, painting, singing and dancing were daily activities.
She started playing the piano at the age of 3. Mrs, Piedras Dartigues, her first teacher guided her through the technical and interpretative requirements of music, which allowed her to appropriate the musical language, making it her first language. All this knowledge allowed her to develop the different methodologies that she applies, with magnificent results, to her music teaching. She taught for 30 years at the National Conservatory of Music and the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico. She conducted the Typical Children's Orchestra of the Institute of Fine Arts for 10 years.
During these years, she gave lessons at all levels, including Master Classes and performed various concerts in Europe and Asia. Since her arrival in Quebec, Laura has been singing in residences for the elderly and for Alzheimer's patients. She is the musical director of the group “Flor de Canela” which displays the artistic folk roots of different countries of the world.

Liam has been making music from a very young age. He started playing guitar at age 6, piano at age 7, and was singing in choirs even before that. This love for music led Liam to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music (major in Composition) from MacEwan University in 2020. Liam has composed and performed a wide variety of music; including musical theatre, choir, classical, singer-songwriter, and jazz ensemble. In Spring 2024, Liam performed the roll of Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music with Abbotsford’s Gallery 7 Theatre. In Winter 2024, Liam composed music for and performed in a play adaptation of Prince Caspian, also with Gallery 7. Liam has taught private music lessons for over 5 years. His favourite part about teaching music is hearing people use what they’ve learned to bring a story to life through song. His rate is $31 per half hour.
