Luke has 30+ years of experience playing guitar, bass, drums, singing, composing and producing music in a myriad of styles. In addition to having undergone extensive studies in Jazz and Classical traditions (including the Humber Music Program), he has played in Pop, Blues, Folk, Jazz, Classic Rock, Indie Rock, Dance, Electronic, Punk, and Metal bands all over Canada as well extensive touring in Europe and the United States.
Keeping in mind that theory, technique and ear training are important, he is always trying to encourage his students to build a fearless trust in their own musical intuition. He aims to stay in touch with modern music idioms and teach students of all ages and skill levels songs that they know and like. Maetinee has obtained a fully advanced Grade 5 Yamaha Piano Certificate (Japan), Trinity (London), and Grade 10 Piano with Honors from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has over 10 years of teaching experience in a variety of musical styles such as classical, pop, chords, improvisation and gospel music. Maetinee has extensive experience coaching students for performance in competitions, recitals, and preparing students for piano and theory examinations through the RCM.

Makenzie Bartlett has been playing the violin since the age of four and has developed a lifelong love for music. She is an active musician with the Stratford Symphony Youth Orchestra, the SMCSS concert band and regularly participates in other community music events. With years of experience in ensemble and solo playing, Makenzie aims to bring energy, creativity, and fun to every lesson. Manny has been playing live since 1991 and teaching since 1995. He was the winner of the 1997 Blues Guitar Riff-Off at age 19 and was nominated Best Blues Band at the Doheny Blues Society in California in 1999 and the Maple Blues Awards in 2000. He has played many major blues festivals in Ottawa and New York and has shared the stage with blues legends Otis Rush, Kid Ramos (The Fabulous Thunderbirds) and Dan Aykroyd. Manny has played in several different blues and rockabilly bands over the years. He is comfortable teaching students of all levels, especially those that are interested in lead and rhythm guitar. He began his musical career in his elementary school choir. In high school, he studied both clarinet and saxophone, getting involved in several musical projects. His passion for music led him to perform with several small and large ensembles. He is interested in writing and arranging music, as well as chamber music and symphony orchestra repertoires. As an adult, Marc studied ensemble conducting with trumpeter and conductor André Gauthier. As part of his bachelor's degree in music education, he studied classical clarinet at UQAM with Martin Carpentier, clarinetist with the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal. Marc has long been interested in all wind instruments, and is not afraid of musical challenges. His professional experience has led him to conduct young people in school settings as well as adults in musical theatre settings. He has been teaching clarinet, saxophone, flute and trumpet privately for over 15 years, and continues to hone his teaching skills at university.

Marc’s been teaching at Long & McQuade since 2010. He teaches all genres, believing students will work harder if they’re playing music they love to play. He can teach RCM, and was a judge at the Victoria Conservatory of Music for graduating students in 2021. Marc joined Prism in 2010, playing large festival audiences and indoor theatres. He was with Doug and the Slugs and Nick Gilder before that. He also plays keyboards and sings with Stone Poets, recording their 5th album currently with Marc producing alongside West Coast Engineer of the year, Sheldon Zaharko. He’s the West Coast Director with the Canadian Musicians Coalition; a director at Pacific Northwest Radio and the writer/producer of the radio podcast. Marco Castillo was born in the capital of Samba, and after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Estácio de Sá University in Rio de Janeiro in 1994, he instantly began touring South America with Brazil’s hottest bands; since moving to Canada, Marco has performed in festivals around the globe, and has recorded and produced many musical projects. Whether it’s his work as a solo artist, his full 8 piece "Brazilian Beats" band, or collaborations with the Winnipeg Jazz and Symphony Orchestras and Ron Paley’s Big Band, Castillo brings a one of a kind show. Castillo’s much appraised Trip to Brazil, (one of his three albums), was awarded World Recording of the Year (2012) in Regina as part of the Western Canadian Music Awards. Marco Castillo was also a finalist for the 2015 Viña del Mar music festival in Chile, one of the most important music festivals in Latin America, which is broadcasted and seen by over 250,000,000 fans around the world. Castillo believes in developing a personalized teaching method for each student since every individual learns differently. Marco specializes in a number of different teaching styles including rock, jazz, pop, country, as well as Latin rhythms such as samba, bossa-nova, bolero, salsa, Afro Cuban and more!

Maria began playing music at the age of five and was taken under the wing of her violinist aunt for more than five years. She was the first prize winner at the Festival Jeunes Talents in Saint-Lambert for three consecutive years from 2005 to 2007 as well as recipient of the Certificate of Honor and the Coup de Coeur Diploma. She studied at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal for four years, where she had the opportunity to be a member of the Junior String Orchestra of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. She was notably part of the Orchestre à cordes Junior de la Montérégie (AOJM), the Orchestre Philharmonie jeunesse de Montréal, the Orchestre de chambre du cégep de Saint-Laurent and the Orchestre Symphonique des jeunes de Montréal. In 2019, she obtained her Double DEC in Humanities and Music. She is currently starting her first year of the Master of Music program in Violin Performance at the University of Montreal. Marjoo draws her vocal style from classical music, R&B, and soul. With classical training from Nathalie Magnan and Céline Binet, then further refined with Priscilla-Ann Tremblay, she made her mark on stage in West Side Story, Les Choristes, and Sister Act before shining at the Quebec City Opera Festival. In 2025, she participated in the Quebec Music Festival and reached the finals of the Dégelis competition.
Today, she writes her own songs: her EP Bless my soul and her single Conversations reveal an intimate universe nourished by rhythm and blues. Passionate about passing on her knowledge, she already teaches singing and hopes to continue this mission at Long & McQuade in Lévis.

Mark discovered guitar at the age of 14. He plays acoustic, electric, lap steel, mandolin, ukulele, bass and bandurria. He has been teaching all ages how to enjoy these instruments for over 30 years. As a young man, he won the Royal Conservatory’s silver medal of Canada in classical guitar. Mark has continued by composing new finger-style works that showcase this training. Mark has always admired artists like Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and old masters like Robert Johnson and Son House. That passion led to a nomination for a Covenant award by the Canadian Gospel Music Association for Best Blues Song, 'Waiting For the Resurrection'.
