Medda studied trumpet at Western University, where she also learned to play trombone, bassoon and other brass instruments. She has been singing in choirs most of her life, most recently in the Peterborough Singers for fifteen years. She studied with Marie Anderson and Paul-Andre Durocher and more recently has learned from Pam Birrell and Leslie Fagan. She presently plays in several local groups of various sizes and is involved with the Peterborough New Horizons Bands. Medda teaches students of all ages and skill levels and her rate is $26 per half hour lesson.

Meg LaRose is a trained vocalist with twenty years of performing experience. Their training crosses a variety of genres ranging from classical and opera to contemporary music, such as jazz, rock and pop. They hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from MacEwan University. Most recently, Meg has completed their Master of Arts in Music and Culture at Carleton University in Ottawa. Their research at Carleton analyzed the relationship between voice and perceptions of gender by exploring the concept of transition. Meg loves all different kinds of music and is passionate about creating a learning environment where people feel safe to play, explore and achieve their individual goals for sounding.

Mélanie Caissie is a voice and piano teacher and performer with over 20 years in the industry. She received her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance at the University of Toronto and has her grade 9 RCM in piano. Mélanie has worked as a classical soloist for churches in Toronto and enjoyed being a freelance performing and recording vocalist in a variety of engagements. She has prepared many students in voice and piano for recitals, festival competitions, university auditions and professional gigs. She has a passion in sharing her love of music with her students. She teaches well-rounded lessons by incorporating performance technique, ear training, theory, and improvisation. She teaches young artists how to maintain a healthy voice. Micah Hussell started playing the saxophone at age 10, and started playing piano shortly thereafter. He graduated from The King’s University College with a Bachelor of Music in saxophone performance. After finding his love for choral singing with The King's University College Concert and Chamber Choirs, he proceeded to sing with other choral ensembles including Edmonton Youth Choir, Alberta Youth Choir, Pro Coro Connect, and Chronos Vocal Ensemble. Micah recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Music in Saxophone Performance and Composition. Micah has been teaching piano and saxophone lessons at Long & McQuade Edmonton North since March 2016.

Michael began his musical career at the age of 4 by learning the piano. He has since gone on to continue his musical education from being accepted into the Performing Arts program at O’Neill C.V.I and culminating in his acceptance to the renowned Berklee College of Music in 2011. It was at Berklee that Michael explored many different styles of music becoming proficient in contemporary, pop, rock, jazz, classical and Latin genres. He also had the opportunity to attend clinics and work with Ernie Isley, John Patituci, Pat Methany as well as songwriter, producer, and Warner Brothers music executive Kara Dioguardi.

Michael takes pride in his students leaving the lesson having learned something new and most importantly having fun doing it. Michael understands that each student learns in a different way and tailors his teaching style to meet a unique need or challenge a student may face. Michael has experience teaching various ages and levels from age 4+ and beginner to RCM level 10.

Michelle Vallance is a resident of St. Marys, Ontario. At the age of 8, her parents enrolled her in piano studies, exams and competitions which she continued to the age of 23. In university, she studied at the Royal School of Church Music in Croydon England, and, with the University of Windsor Chamber Choir, performed at Carnegie Hall in New York under the direction of British composer John Rutter. She holds both an Honors Bachelor of Music Degree with concentrations in piano, pipe organ and choral direction , as well as a Bachelor of Education degree in Music. She taught recorder, handbells and directed a wonderful children's choir in the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board for 17 years. In earlier years Michelle taught at Academie Ste. Cecile in Windsor and Algoma Conservatory in Sault Ste. Marie. Currently, Michelle and her husband are music directors at Holy Name of Mary Church in St. Marys. Michelle teaches piano, singing, can offer theory classes and handbell group playing as well. Her lesson rate is $25 per half hour.

Mitch has been teaching guitar since 2002. He’s a graduate of the Red Deer College music program, has studied classical guitar through the Royal Conservatory of Music (3 time Gold Medalist for levels 7, 8, and 9), and has a Diploma in Jazz Performance from the London College of Music. He has studied with some of Edmonton’s finest instructors, and in L.A. with Greg Howe (a touring guitarist for Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake). Mitch enjoys, and has experience teaching various styles ranging from classical music to metal. His has completed the Suzuki Guitar Volumes 1-4 and Suzuki Principles in Action courses. Monika Kowalczuk is an active musician, instructor and performer for special occasions. She earned her BA in Music at the King’s College in Edmonton. With 20 years of training and teaching experience, she has been exposed to various styles and genres of music. She is involved in piano, harp, organ, voice, theory, ear training, harmony, choral music, various forms of dance, including ballroom, theatre, leading and attending workshops, planning and organizing events and performances. Some of her performances have been seen at the Jubilee Auditorium, Winspear, and Royal Alberta Museum. She has expanded to teach group classes with the Yamaha program and is constantly acquiring new techniques and approaches to expose students of all ages to the various aspects of music.
