Nelson Collins - Lee (Drums) Registration Request
Nelson Collins-Lee is a Canadian drummer, based in Edmonton, Alberta. He plays an eclectic variety of styles (jazz, rock, metal, afro-Caribbean etc.) and has a detailed yet relaxed and student orientated approach to teaching. After completing his diploma in drum set performance at MacEwan University and spending an additional year of jazz studies at the University of North Texas, he has spent the past five years teaching private lessons, performing with bands and continuing to learn. Currently he plays with the bands Red Litmus, All Else Fails, Morewine, Pike and the 21st Agenda. Nelson also takes on various freelance gigs and recording sessions and made his musical theatre debut in the fall of 2016 when he played WS “Fluke” Holland in the Citadel Theatre’s production of the Million Dollar Quartet. Nhat-Viet (Toto) Phi began playing solo piano at age six, and has enjoyed a long history of success in Canadian music festivals starting even before his national first prize at age eleven. In addition to headlining with several Canadian orchestras and chamber music with his brothers, he has been praised for his wide-ranging collaborative talents across the nation in vocal, choral, string, woodwind, brass and percussion disciplines. From 2007-2019, Toto was the official accompanist for the University of Moncton music department. Since 1990, Mr. Phi has enjoyed teaching piano privately for all ages and all levels including ARCT, in English and French.

Nick has toured across Canada and internationally and is active in the local music scene, playing with Juno-nominee Kim Barlow, ECMA-nominee Alana Yorke, award-winning songwriter Carmel Mikol to name a few. Nima is an active performer, session player, and educator with over 10 years of professional experience; even teaching at the esteemed Hatra Music Institute in Tehran. He's had the privilege of studying under esteemed drum masters like Jojo Mayer and Jost Nickel. He is a touring drummer for many Iranian and Canadian artists and is fluent in Jazz, Rock, Pop, Metal, and Funk.

Nina Maxwell is a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified teacher for elementary and intermediate piano. She holds her Grade 9 Piano, and Theory and History/Harmony Grades 9 and 10 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. She continues to expand her knowledge and credentials and is currently studying for her Grade 10 Piano and Elementary Piano Pedagogy through the RCM.
Nina has over thirty years of teaching experience with students ranging from the very young to retired seniors. Her specialties include exam preparation (classical, popular, and theoretical) and helping special needs students to achieve success. Nina is listed as a recommended teacher for special needs children with the Autism Resource Centre in Regina. Over the years, many of Nina's students have received outstanding marks on examinations and music festivals, including for a recent Royal Conservatory practical examination session, several Distinction and First Class Honors results, and 2 gold medal winners for the highest mark in the province! Nina has also attended many workshops and seminars on handling stress and uses the Brain Gym techniques as additional learning tools. She is also the accompanist for the Circle of Friends Ladies Choir.

Norm has been playing guitar for 40+ years and teaching/performing for over 20 years. He co-developed the guitar teaching program at Simply Guitars in Ottawa in 2006 where he taught for almost ten years.
Utilizing the 12 bar blues styles and CAGED system have been very effective in helping students establish a technical foundation from which they can branch off into rock, pop, metal, country and jazz etc. He believes in a relaxed but structured learning environment, utilizing both theoretical and hands-on approaches, and enjoys teaching anyone from the complete novice to the seasoned player looking to expand their horizons. His personal philosophy also includes talking about the history and origins of songs, styles, performers, instruments etc.

Oscar Robles Díaz is a versatile musician and music educator that has been teaching at Long and McQuade since 2015. Originally from Mexico, he studied Classical Guitar in Mexico City’s Autonomous University (UNAM). Since 2008, he has been residing on Vancouver Island, Canada. He has toured extensively throughout Mexico and Central America, Western Canada and as far as Taiwan, and also worked as a recording artist.
As an endorsee of Touch Guitars (Germany), Oscar’s live performances are featured on the official YouTube channel for this innovative instrument. A skilled multi-instrumentalist, he offers one-on-one instruction on guitar (acoustic and electric), bass guitar, Chapman Stick, ukulele, and drum kit. Pam started studying piano at age 4 and a half and was on the specialized courses at the RCM starting at age 6. At age 6 she started participating in festivals and concerts across Ontario. She is a highly experienced teacher and holds an ARCT degree in Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), teaching beginner up to level 10 piano, and all levels of Theory. Pam’s father, Frank Wharram, was a national examiner and adjudicator for the RCM, and her mother, Barbara Wharram, is the author of 2 best-selling rudiments theory books, and also worked for the RCM. Pam has performed with the RCM Orchestra and York Symphony Orchestra, and she won the provincial silver medal for 3 consecutive years for highest marks in Ontario and Quebec. Pam loves working with both children and adults! She worked as the Senior Section Director for the East York YMCA Day Camps, as well as North York YMCA. She has additional experience working for the DDSB with special needs children. Her goal as an educator is to help students develop a sense of pride and dedication towards learning. Patrick MacIntyre is a lifelong musician with a passion for Drumset and Marching Snare. With roots in the Scottish Pipe Band world, he has competed and won at a professional level across North America and Europe.
A Bachelor of Music graduate from MacEwan University, Patrick continues to perform locally and internationally. In 2024, he earned a 1st Place Grade 2 Drumming Prize at the World Pipe Band Championships, where his band also placed 2nd Overall in the World.
He teaches students ages 8–18 with the Edmonton Youth Pipe Band Association and has performed with local jazz artists, big bands, Cikwes, and contributed music to the television series Crip Trip.
Patrick specializes in Pop, Indie, Alternative, Funk, and Rock, with a strong jazz foundation. He creates a safe, welcoming environment and continues to grow alongside his students.
