Bryan has been playing drums since 1982 and teaching since 1995. He has played everything from jazz to heavy metal. Bryan performs regularly with his Latin jazz trio and is a member of the Brian Eagles Band. He has recorded and performed with many groups, most notably with Juno nominated singer/songwriter Kathleen Edwards. Bryan has studied at the world-renowned Drummers Collective in New York City with a grant awarded from the Ontario Arts Council. He has also studied with Jim Chapin, Kim Plainfield, Magella Cormier and Joel Rosenblatt. Bryan has taught for the Carleton University Bachelor of Music program and is a member of both the Vic Firth Education Team and the Hudson Music Teacher Integration Program. Cam also plays as a solo guitarist inspired by great fingerstyle players and classical repertoire. Cam values teaching music as a language and creates a space where students start making music within their first lesson. Cam also offers instruction in music technology, electronic production, songwriting, and orchestration. Cameron O'Brien is a multi-instrumentalist who has studied 5 instruments in Cambrian college, Majoring in Guitar and Cello, getting 2 advanced diplomas. He specializes in tailoring different teaching strategies to create the best learning exercises and curriculum for each student; improving form, ergonomics, and technique on your instrument; high-level harmonic and historic interpretation of music. During his time at Cambrian, he ran promotion tours for the school, advertising the college's music program. He participated in Gatinau's, Guitar Alla Grande Annual performances where he performed in their guitar orchestra, with his trio and his own solo slot. In the summers, he competed in the Kiwanis Music Festival for 3 years, earning the silver medal for the provincial competition in each. Chip joined the RCAF in 1973. In 1986 he decided he needed a career change and in 1986 enrolled in the Volunteer Musician Program at 14 Wing Canadian Forces Base, studying saxophone there until 1989 when he was transferred to 22 Wing CFB North Bay. Chip continued his studies at the Canadian Forces School of Music and did Basic Improvisation & Keyboard Method & Theory through Berklee College of Music. He was appointed Director of the 22 Wing CFB North Bay in 1998 and served there until 2016. He was the Ensemble Director and Saxophone Instructor for the Nipissing University Applied Music Programme. Chip has performed with the Central Band of The Canadian Forces, 8 Wing CFB Trenton, The Continentals Big Band, Nightshift Dance Band and still performs with the After Hours Jazz Combo and the 22 Wing Military Band. Chris was born in Montreal Quebec and moved to BC when he was five, It wasn't long after that his love of music began to surface. His mother played jazz piano and his father played British invasion guitar mixed with the blues. So from an early age Chris had plenty of influences to choose from. His brother gave him a fretless bass when he was 9 followed by some guitars for various birthdays from his parents including a fender Stratocaster for his 16th.
After playing in bands in high school Chris was off to Capilano University where he studied jazz.immediatly following that he hit the ground running playing professionally in live in studio situations for the next 20 years.
He then switched from live to lessons and has been teaching steadily for the last six years. Chris takes great pleasure introducing people to music, watching them develop and hearing the tangible results.
His rate is $31 per half hour.
