Adrian has been an avid guitar player since 1992, including 8 years of private instruction with Carl Kory, Jim Blair and Mitch Merrett. His roots and influences are in rock music, but he also loves to play and teach metal, funk, pop, blues, gospel, country and many other genres. He plays with a variety of bands, both live and for studio recordings. Additionally, Adrian has a certificate in Audio Engineering. Adrian’s lessons are engaging, fun and tailored to each student’s unique goals and interests.

Originally from Vancouver Island, BC, Alida started playing with her family band at the age of 15. Since relocating to Calgary, she has been working with bands full time as well as hosting jams. A newfound passion has been teaching students the fun and enjoyment of music. The great interaction with her students and the 30+ years of professional performance make the perfect combination for a high level but enjoyable learning experience, particularly for the younger students who possess the same enthusiasm she had at a young age. Family considerations brought Andrzej from Poland to Calgary in 1990, and he has maintained a thriving playing career on both continents ever since. His European work has won gold records, and in Canada he has toured with the Roadhammers, Tom Jackson, Lisa Brokop and Patricia Conroy. Andrzej is sought after as a studio musician, performer and teacher, and we are thrilled that he will be offering instruction through our studios. Archer Schick has shown a passion for music since a very early age. He began taking drum lessons at Long & McQuade at the age of six. After enrolling in the Rock Band program at Long & McQuade, he developed a love for performance. Archer graduated high school in 2024 where he was a part of his school’s concert and jazz bands. Now he is currently playing with three different bands, rehearsing every week and playing live shows often. He is well-versed in rock, metal, funk, Latin, and many other styles. Archer’s teaching methods focus on the interests of the student while encouraging creativity, and aim to develop proper technique, a good ear, an understanding of music theory, and a wide-ranging musical vocabulary. Archer teaches drums at the Regina store. His rate is $27 per half-hour.

Ben earned his Bachelor of Arts degree (Major in Music) from Mount Allison University where he took classes on Theory, History, Composition, Analysis, Arranging, Methods and Teaching. He began taking drum lessons at the age of 12 and then took bass and guitar shortly after. He began teaching in 2015 and has been teaching drums, guitar, bass, ukulele, song writing and production techniques all over the maritimes. Ben plays rock, metal, acoustic, fusion and electronica and acts as composer and producer for various musical projects. Ben loves discussing writing techniques, production and advanced music theory concepts. His rate is $28 per half-hour session.

Brandon studied contemporary music at Mohawk College in Hamilton Ontario under some of Canada's most skilled musicians. In his time of study there he became very immersed in the musical vocabulary of contemporary rock /pop music. He plays in various groups around Ontario of all different styles and genres. Brandon has also performed at many jazz, folk and contemporary music festivals around the world. His rate is $28 for a 30 minute lesson.

Bryan has been playing drums since 1982 and teaching since 1995. He has played everything from jazz to heavy metal. Bryan performs regularly with his Latin jazz trio and is a member of the Brian Eagles Band. He has recorded and performed with many groups, most notably with Juno nominated singer/songwriter Kathleen Edwards. Bryan has studied at the world-renowned Drummers Collective in New York City with a grant awarded from the Ontario Arts Council. He has also studied with Jim Chapin, Kim Plainfield, Magella Cormier and Joel Rosenblatt. Bryan has taught for the Carleton University Bachelor of Music program and is a member of both the Vic Firth Education Team and the Hudson Music Teacher Integration Program. Charles Urich is a drummer originally from Sydney, Nova Scotia. He has a Bachelor of Music degree from St. FX. Charles has extensive playing experience with various local acts, and has been teaching privately since 2011. Chris Stephenson began his passion for playing drums at the ripe age of 12. At 18 years old, and a recent graduate of high school, Chris began his drumming career as a professional touring/recording artist gaining two JUNO Nominations and over a dozen world tours under his belt, to date.
With his experiences as a professional touring/recording artist and masterclass clinician, Chris is now focusing on his knowledge of theory and application in drum performance towards his first educational book ‘The Rhythm Trees’. Having studied under the likes of Alex Landenburg, Thomas Lang, Chris Coleman, Benny Greb, Matt Garstka and Aquiles Priester, Chris has developed his own approach to drumming in hopes to influence, educate and inspire drummers locally and globally. Christy Vanden is a guitar, drum and vocal teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience, both privately and at the Long and McQuade Lesson Centre in Courtenay. She is a local musician who has played lead guitar and vocals in numerous bands, toured as a solo act and played in the all-female multi-award nominated group, She Could Be Trouble.
She is currently the co-lead singer and rhythm guitarist for Time Well Wasted, and drummer for Oktiv6. Christy has performed multiple times at Filberg Festival, Nautical Days, The Sid Williams Theatre, Sunfest Country Music Fest, and 2024's Vancouver Island Music Fest.
Christy was nominated in the 2022 Comox Valley Record's “Reader's Choice Awards” under the ‘Best Musician’, ‘Best Performer’ and ‘Best Music Teacher’ categories. From about the age of 8, Craig has been completely in love with playing the drums and that love has only deepened with time. Dave is a performer and educator of all things musical. He has toured Eastern Canada and parts of the U.S., performed at numerous venues, music festivals, theatre productions, conducted clinics and workshops, and has extensive experience in the recording studio. He spent four years on the music faculty at Mohawk College, and 12 years as a supply teacher for the Waterloo Region District School Board. He has served as an adjudicator for the Arts Education Project grant selection process with the Ontario Arts Council. Dave has been a keynote speaker for ETFO, and conducted motivational clinics in various institutions including a master class at Carleton University. Dave has taught privately for the last thirty-five plus years, is on staff at the Beckett School of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, and is a paraprofessional for the Integrated Arts Program at Eastwood Collegiate in Kitchener. Dave holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Toronto, as well as a Diploma in Applied Music from Mohawk College. He is endorsed by Headhunters Drumsticks. Dave has studied with drummers Bob McLaren, Barry Elmes, Ernie Porthouse, John Cheeseman, and Memo Acevedo.
