Designed in partnership with the Gibson Custom Shop, this Inspired by Gibson™ guitar is an impressive Epiphone reproduction of one of the most important and popular guitar models of all time. The Epiphone 1961 Les Paul™ SG™ Standard pays homage to the legendary original SG. In 1961, the original Les Paul shape was abandoned in favor of an entirely new design, now known as the SG or "solid guitar."

Featuring a two-piece solid mahogany double-cutaway body with Custom Shop Historic contours, it also boasts the one-piece mahogany SlimTaper™ neck with a fast and precise C-shaped profile characteristic of early Les Paul SG models. It is equipped with a historically inspired long pickguard, two Gibson™ BurstBucker™ humbucker pickups wired to CTS® potentiometers and Mallory™ capacitors, a Graph Tech® nut, and a Switchcraft® jack and pickup selector.

The Epiphone Deluxe tuners feature a double-ring design inspired by historical models. This model is available in Aged Sixties Cherry and Aged Classic White finishes. Naturally, it also retains all the aesthetic details and legendary style of the SG, along with a vintage-style hardshell case.
