The Ibanez S8QM-TRB is an 8-string electric guitar with a 5 piece Wizard II-8 neck, a quilted maple top and a Gibraltar standard-8 bridge. As part of the 2013 additions to the manufacturers range, the S8QM-TRB represents the first time an Ibanez 8-string has been available with the sleek, slim line design of the S-series.
This instruments fantastic playability is combined with a great high-output tone courtesy of Ibanez-made AH-8 pickups and quality electronics. The low profile fixed bridge and accessible volume, tone and 5-way switch controls ensure the guitar is comfortable to handle despite its larger than usual neck size. Effective string tension at even the lowest of tunings is maintained thanks to the 27 scale length, and as such the guitar is factory tuned from a low F to a high D#.
With growing popularity amongst modern rock and metal players, the 8-string is an emerging star in the guitar world, and this model takes the best elements of several successful 6 and 8 string models and combines them to form a brilliant instrument that is available at an extremely competitive price point.
