It is perfect for both guitarists and bassists. It can be used in front of your amp or as a preamp in your effects loop.
The two channels ("Normal" and "Bright") are permanently linked to obtain maximum volume and gain. The Burning Sunn is not a high-gain pedal: it remains transparent in all circumstances and blends perfectly with other overdrive, distortion or fuzz pedals. It retains large reserves of bass, the typical "growl" and a pure vintage sound, whatever the conditions.
