The new Leblanc line of clarinets designed by clarinet master Morrie Backun represents the newest choice for professional clarinets. Backun Barrels are used by some of the most prestigious clarinetist in the world. Bringing his expertise to help design this line of clarinets has yielded the most impressive clarinet choices that we have ever seen. The Cadenza (model LB130) is the entry into this line of clarinets. Make no mistake, this is a Professional Artist level instrument. The clarinet is completely made in the USA by Leblanc. The Barrels are made in Canada by Backun.

The Cadenza includes 2 of the Backun Ringless model barrels effectively giving the player 2 completely different playing instrument styles.

65mm Backun Ringless Grenadilla - This is the warmer more colorful sounding of the 2. Also being a 65mm barrel, this will be most students' choice as it is the easier to play in tune.

66mm Backun Ringless Cocobolo - A brighter sounding barrel (this is the lighter colored barrel). Traditional 66mm length means that the player has to play with a very controlled embouchure. This combination though, when used correctly, yields an absolutely beautiful upper register with great response.

The Cadenza is truly an excellent clarinet for ANY level of player and is priced better then the competing models from other manufacturers. The clarinet features excellent intonation and excellent ergonomics. It has multiple adjusting screws to help the fine tune adjustments stay easier.

The Cadenza is very free blowing and easy to play but still retains a very warm sound to it. This is also an ideal doubler's clarinet. Saxophonists who want a professional caliber clarinet that plays effortlessly will find the Cadenza a perfect fit.
