From magnificent fortissimo power to the softest and most delicate pianissimo, new dimensions of timbre and expression are about to resonate around the world. The YHR869D is Yamahas newest success in creating the highest quality horn to promote the best playing experience available.

This full double horn in F/Bb features a yellow-brass detachable MS size bell. This narrow bell plays a big role in producing the horns lively sound. The bore size is 12.1 millimeters. The instrument is finished in clear lacquer and includes easy switching between F/Bb and Bb/F, an adjustable pinky hook, and a water key.

The 800 series horns feature a new leadpipe design which greatly enhances the expressive capabilities of the horn. It offers a comfortable level of resistance and a well balanced center, making legato playing significantly easier.

The valve caps are heavier on this model of horn. Extra mass provides the horn with a richer, darker sound contributing to a warmer resonance and timbre.

With a adjustable pinky-ring, this horn can be made to fit more comfortably the hands of all those who struggle to grip a standard French Horn. Whether you have smaller or larger hands, you would have no issue having an effortless hold on the horn.

The 869D is housed in a fantastic backpack case that is lighter than the horn itself while providing ample extra room for mutes and other accessories.

This horn is listed a demo due to being Yamahas demo model travelling on the road to different events before coming into Long and McQuade's hands. It has been kept in fantastic shape by both the Yamaha and L&M techs throughout its life.
