With the 50 Series, the Lowden team explores the limits of sonic and aesthetic refinement, using exclusively Master Grade tonewoods. Designed for musicians who value impeccable quality, this series offers an exceptional level of customization. The goal is simple: to create an instrument that embodies the craftsmanship of the Lowden team.
The S-50 features an Alpine spruce top and old-growth bog oak back and sides. This oak comes from peat bogs where trees have often been buried for 5,000 years or more. Its wood is almost petrified and nearly black. Harder than young oak, it is therefore better suited to tone. Its warm, woody tones are perfect for jazz and melodies.
