The Van Laar craftspeople in Margraten, Netherlands, consider the B1 to be the 'gem' of their collection. With a lightweight bell and valve cluster this horn offers a bright and compact sound with great projection and a fine sizzle in the high register. This horn is designed with flexibility in mind and is favoured by many trumpet players across the globe for its quick response and nimble movement across all ranges of the instrument.

Van Laar is one of the few boutique brass shops to make every piece of the horn in-house. Everything from the bell to the valve cluster is designed and built especially to mesh perfectly with the rest of the instrument. Due to this, Van Laar trumpets have a distinct identity and unique timbral quality that sets them apart from other manufacturers.

With serial number 2906, this particular trumpet is believed to be one of the last worked on by Hub Van Laar himself before his passing in 2022, giving this instrument a special place in the trumpet cannon.

With an unlacquered finish, this trumpet wears its use proudly due to the oxidization of the metal. Despite this, the trumpet remains in perfect working order.

***This instrument is housed in a Schilke hard shell case in good condition. It does not come with a mouthpiece.
