Reynolds - TU-20 - Bb Trumpet
Sale Price: $100001
Description
F.A. Reynolds was one of the foremost brass instrument manufacturers of the 20th century. From their beginnings in 1936 all the way to their closing at the end of the 1970s, Reynolds offered some of the finest trumpets and other brass instruments available on the market, evening securing major contracts with the US army during the second world war.
The TU-20 "Onyx" was first introduced in 1973. With a quite large .464" bore (potentially up to .468!) this trumpet is built around a deep, dark tone which offers a soulful playing experience with lots of room to move around each note. The nickel-plated finish of this instruments offers an immensely durable shell while giving the horns dark core and bright, shimmery edge. The 5" yellow-brass bell ensures that the layered timbre this horn produces is properly supported with enough projection and focus.
For being built in the 1970s, this instrument is in excellent condition. The valve action is still quick, tight, and silent, a feature which proudly shone through all Reynolds products. The nickel plating is still entirely intact, with the unique ebony-black lacquer only starting to wear on the first valve slide.
***This instrument comes in its original Reynolds case in good condition and comes with a unbranded mouthpiece.
